Following the gang hatchet job on Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders by two separate FoxNews crews a few nights ago, Fox pulled down all the video footage from the internet like it never happened. Well, it did happen. Jim Angle, Glenn Beck, Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer and A.B Stoddard all did the dirty work during two different shows. But, thanks to Gates of Vienna and Diana West we can at least watch Glenn Beck going at Wilders one more time.
First, lets look at Glenn Becks six minute interview with Wilders from February of 2009. Beck warmly welcomed Wilders and gave him plenty of air-time. Wilders presented his case for the noble cause of resistance to the growing Islamic repression of free speech in The Netherlands. Beck treated Wilders like the hero he is. Ladies and gentlemen, a year later it is impossible to reconcile Becks posture and position in 2009 with his attack on Wilders this week unless one allows for the possibility that Beck is now being influenced by powers above him at FoxNews.
The 2009 Wilders interview is here.
Now for this weeks piece, in which Beck labeled Wilders a fascist.

Great post.
When I got home after 9/11, I started researching like nobody’s business. At sometime around 3 am, I realized it was open action in Holy War. But no, no. No one wanted that mentioned. Ssshhhh. I even posted ‘my rant’ several times, and in several variations.
By that time, I was reading FR. It took me a lloooonnnggg time to sign up, too, after that.
And I agree that someone has gotten to Beck. What Wilders has in “Fitna” is footage that is available in many places, or, has been up until now.
I watch Beck and have taken on the daily show posting for a bit as my part of the task here at FR. I support some of what he’s saying, but, it’s like, “Welcome to the party, pal,” from “Die Hard.” Meanwhile, every single ‘Nakasomi Center’ is being destroyed everywhere ‘Islam’ wants dominance. What they can’t buy, they’ll bury.
I tuned in to the Special Report episode in question ...before the panel came on, Fox News set the table with a negative profile segment on Wilders.
After that panel finished the hit job on Wilders I was stunned and livid...Wilders essentially was echoing the great Winston Churchill, and for that Wilders was journalistically decapitated.
What Fox did was beneath contempt. They flushed their credibility away in a ten minute span. Fox News has, by it’s own choosing, become corrupted by Arab influences.
What a joke.
I repeat:
FoxNews is still MEDIA, whether you listen to the excitable Beck or the droll O’Reilly or the smooth Hannity.
IT’S STILL ALL ABOUT RATINGS.
Who owns FoxNews? Huh? Rich Media Mogul and a Saudi ‘prince.’
And someone’s sure to say “Fair and Balanced.”
Yeah, Right.
That’s why I sincerely hope the GOP would replace Mikey Steele [maybe Fox will give him a job], with Sarah Palin [who could pull the GOP into great shape for the 20-10 elections].
Yes, many FRs have posted the pic of Arafats uncle and his SS regalia.
Islam is the 21st Century Fascists.
Wilders should be a hero to everybody on the right. This is a man who literally puts his life on the line for his beliefs. He has gotten hundreds of death threats from radical Muslims and has to live under the constant surveillance of several bodyguards. Because he speaks out against radical Islam, he practically lives like a prisoner and there is a real possibility that he will be assassinated like Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh (assassinations seem to be part of the normal political discourse in Holland...).
By European standards he is a very good conservative. For the most part, he supports smaller government, less taxes, less EU control, more democracy, cracking down on crime, etc. He’s also one of the biggest supporters of Israel in Europe. Does this sound like a fascist? To me he sounds like a conservative patriot risking his life to save Western Civilization. Although I don’t agree with everything he says, I think that his rejection of political correctness is refreshing—even if it does infuriate a lot of people who apparently don’t believe in free speech.
I think Beck got his right-wing Frenchmen wrong. He probably meant to say Le Pen rather than Villepin. The latter was Chirac’s prime minister. The former is the head of France’s Front National Party.
Islam is a combination of Fascism and Communism, you get a 2 fer with Islam.
What do you disagree with?
Yes, A hybred that is lethal.
2) He delves into subjects that interest me that you won't find covered on other shows such as Constitutional history.
3) He keeps me updated on the latest radicals in the administration and their backgrounds.
I just have issues with the way he has treated some of his guests lately. He has found that with his following, he has the power to make or break careers. Ruining careers is fine when you are attacking self-avowed communists in the White House, but eating your own over minor issues and skewing their words to suit your own personal agenda is a whole other matter. As we say in my neck of the woods, he's gotten a little too big for his britches ; )
Wilders could have been describing the US. We bring in 1.2 million LEGAL immigrants annually, most of whom are poor and uneducated. 53% of all immigrant families in the US are on welfare and the numbers are growing with the economic downturn since most are unskilled and uneducated.

OK
True!!! Not many will speak up concerning the evils of mohammedism.
And TV news and newspapers are nothing but ideological propaganda.
“What other country in the world will allow substantial foreign investment in and control of major news outlets or farm land?”
Good question.
In our case, it could appear as a smooth device to avoid the lst Amendment.
Troubled by the difficulty of making a law abridging the free speech of the hated Fox News, the government could abridge simply by approving the sale to this particular buyer.
It would be interesting to know what motivated Roger A. to transfer the interest to this buyer. Were others invited to negotiate a price?, etc.
Personally, I disagree with Wilders’ call for headscarves to be banned. I sympathize with his desire to speed the assimilation of immigrants and his support of women’s rights. However, I don’t think that that is the best route to take.
I’m also not entirely sure how to take some of the more belligerent things that he has said about the Koran (not because I support the Koran at all—but because I believe in freedom of religion).
At any rate, I strongly support the right of the Dutch people to secure their borders, preserve their culture and sovereignty, and keep their people safe from both terrorism and street crime. These are the issues that Wilders is fighting the hardest for, and I applaud him for that. (And it doesn’t hurt in my opinion that he is also pro-USA and pro-Israel—somewhat rare traits for a European politician.)
Wilders: "In some parts of these cities, Islamic regulations are already being enforced. Womens rights are being destroyed. Burqas, headscarves, polygamy, female genital mutilation, honour-killings. Women have to go to separate swimming-classes, dont get a handshake. In many European cities there is already apartheid."
Wilder's point is that women are being forced in many instances to wear a headscarf. I have lived a total of nine years in three Islamic countries as well as four years in Berlin, which has a large muslim (primarily Turkish) population. In many muslim countries, there is sexual apartheid and other oppressive measures against women, e.g., some can't drive, arranged marriages, etc.
Europe is not the US when it comes to assimilation of immigrants. Under the circumstances, I support Wilder who has said that one of the first things a PVV led coalition will do is introduce a ban on headscarves for civil servants and for all institutions, foundations or associations that receive municipal subsidies. Many muslim women would like to assimilate, but there is tremendous pressure from their communities to keep them in line, up to and including honor killings. There have been several in Berlin.
When Mustafa Kemal Ataturk introduced reforms into Turkey to make it into a modern, secular, democratic country, including such symbolic things as the Hat Law of 1925, which introduced the use of Western style hats instead of the fez and the Law Relating to Prohibited Garments of 1934, mandated modern suits instead of antiquated religion-based clothing such as the veil and turban. He liberated women by giving them an education and a right to vote. Ataturk understood Islam and his own people in terms of what measures needed to be taken to change the culture. It worked, but now fundamentalists are reimposing their own dress codes using social pressure.
Symbolism is important and it does have an impact on assimilation. In the Netherlands where there have been assassinations of Dutch citizens by Islamic extremists, I would venture to say that many muslim women are being forced (overtly or by various other pressures) to wear headscarves by the extremist muslim elements. A prohibition will remove such influences. The French are doing something similar with headscarves and school.
Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise throughout the world. It has affected countries like Indonesia where I lived and Iran where I personally saw dress codes changed overnight. And I witnessed the extreme in Saudi Arabia for five years. The more Westernized, Islamic countries are becoming more "Islamic" due to the rise of Islamic fundamentalists. And Western countries with large Islamic populations are being confronted by the Islamic fundamentalists in their own country to accommodate to Islam whether it is Sharia law, dress, social institutions, etc. Some were surpised that the Swiss voted to ban the construction of any new minarets on mosques. I was not.
