Romney tops bestseller list
Politico ^ | 3/10/2010 | Ben Smith

Mitt Romney's new book, "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," will debut on top of the New York Times bestseller list due out March 21, a source tells me.

Romney's book tour has, so far, attracted pretty large crowds, serving -- along with the book sales -- to reassure his supporters that, though he may not draw Sarah Palin style hordes, he's a figure of genuine popular interest.

If you like Mitt RomneyCARE, why don't you vote for him in the next FR poll,

What, you think the next election is going to be determined by FR voters? How many here voted for Obama?

Didn't say I like RomneyCare and he wouldn't be foolish enough to advocate it. But it had very popular support in Massachusetts. I don't care a great deal if states want to experiment. To me it's a good thing. It doesn't affect other states. I've heard Romney speak on health care and I like it. He's big time in favor of medical savings accounts and I like that. He's in favor of opening up the insurance markets, and I like that. He's in favor of Tort Reform and I like that. I could go on but I'd like to go.

“Romney haters”
Nice lead-in sentence. You anger conservatives & `poison the well’ at the same time.

The beast with two backs (Billary) used that ploy when nothing else worked, after every new outrage by her man-boy husband: “It’s the right wing Clinton haters ...”.

truthguy (RomneyBOT standup comedian):
" RomneyCare ...had very popular support in Massachusetts.
....I like it. "

In Massachusetts it has the support of the Romney family and his staff.

Health care in Massachusetts: a warning for America [Romney brings Mass. to its knees]
The Bay State's mandatory insurance law is raising costs, limiting access, and lowering care.

Sedalia, Colo. - In his recent speech to Congress, President Obama could have promoted
healthcare reforms that tapped the power of a truly free market to lower costs and
improve access. Instead, he chose to offer a national version of the failing
"Massachusetts plan" based on mandatory health insurance. This is a recipe for disaster.

Three years ago, Massachusetts adopted a plan requiring all residents to purchase health
insurance, with state subsidies for lower-income residents. But rather than creating a
utopia of high-quality affordable healthcare, the result has been the exact opposite –
skyrocketing costs, worsened access, and lower quality care.

Under any system of mandatory insurance, the government must necessarily define what
constitutes acceptable insurance. In Massachusetts, this has created a giant magnet for
special interest groups seeking to have their own pet benefits included in the required
package. Massachusetts residents are thus forced to purchase benefits they may neither
need nor want, such as in vitro fertilization, chiropractor services, and autism treatment –
raising insurance costs for everyone to reward a few with sufficient political "pull."

Although similar problems exist in other states, Massachusetts' system of mandatory
insurance delivers the entire state population to the special interests. ."

"‘Severe’ doc shortage seen hiking wait time The Boston Herald ^ | 9/15/09 | Christine McConville As the state’s shortage of primary care doctors grows, people are waiting longer for medical care, according to a new survey by the Massachusetts Medical Society. “The shortage is getting more severe,” said Dr. Mario Motta, the medical society’s president. The state’s health care dilemma can serve as a valuable lesson for a nation whose residents are locked in a frenzied debate about health care reform, he added."

“Health costs to rise again.( RomneyCare )
The state’s major health insurers plan to raise premiums by about 10 percent next year,
prompting many employers to reduce benefits and shift additional costs to workers.
The higher insurance costs undermine a key tenet of the state’s landmark health care law
passed two years ago, as well as President Obama’s effort to overhaul health care. In
addition to mandating insurance for most residents, the Massachusetts bill sought to rein
in health care costs. With Washington looking to the Massachusetts experience, fears
about higher costs have become a stumbling block to passing a national health care bill.”

People on this site need to understand that the country isn't conservative but middle of the road. Just because we have mostly conservatives here, doesn't mean they are everywhere. I'm in a sea of liberal stupidity where I work so I'm aware of this.

How do explain the dismal job that Romney did in Massachusetts and his inability to get reelected and losing the seat to the Democrat party after having four Republicans in a row?

Why did Romney finish with a 34% approval rating?

And what exactly are you implying

Look I don't have time for remedial studies. We need to nominate people who can win. I don't like losing and the 2008 election tore me to pieces. Many posters here want the perfect candidate. Ain't gonna happen. Go back and read what Ronald Reagan said about this very issue. He made sense then and it's valid now.

I never even said I was a Romney voter. I don't have any problems with the guy. Some here think he's the devil incarnate. We would be a damn site better off if he were in the White House today than the clown that's there now or even John McCain. So that's what I'm I mean.

So Romney wrote a book, then bought a whole bunch of the copies in advance?

Probably cheaper publicity, than actual advertising.

Peter Horry was a bigot in one post.
He attacked a FReeper who wrote an article,
and went after his, I think, allegedly Southern Baptist background.

But he was Zotted. So no more bigots.

What's with sending to Jim Robinson?

None of my comments are out of line. What's the matter? Afraid of a little debate?

Actually, you don't debate. You are a RomneyBOT.

You were rebutted in Posts #58 and #65 (for example)
but like all RomneyBOTs .... [sound of crickets].

Debate, or admit it that you hide 'under the skirt' with Mitt.

I understand your panic being outed as a supporter of liberal statists. Life might become a bit uneasy on FR. Well Jack, I'll be all over your arse if you are pushing that SOBing statist Romney. And I can guarantee you Jim will be too. You may take us as intellectual lightweights that "are no match for you" but I guarantee you we'll bury your arse. Statist.

With the mess Obama is creating, we will need a courageous president who has the guts to make hard decisions that are going to hack off powerful interests.

When has Mitt Romney ever done anything courageous - from ducking Vietnam to be a missionary in FRANCE to changing positions more often than a gymnast?

Remember, it took a week for the NYT to catch up to Amazon and BN for Sarah. I think the NYT list is cooked. And doesn’t pass the smell test.

Can’t wait to read Mitt’s newest book. We loved Palin’s book, too. I also want to read Judge Napolitano’s new book. We have Glenn Books, too. We are fortunate to have good people writing books.

In the Army we have had a saying..."lead, follow or get the hell out of the way". Thanks for verifying that Romney couldn't lead a johnny detail.
