Advice to House: Don't Take Any Obama Wooden Nickels
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 03-05-10 | JOHN FUND

Posted on 03/05/2010 6:53:40 PM PST by GOP_Lady

The Senate may trick the House into passing its bill.

Nancy Pelosi is trying to shoo House Democrats into voting for the Senate health care bill, but members are more worried than ever that the Senate won't then implement the necessary changes through the reconciliation process to make the final bill acceptable. They have good reason for concern.

Now they're hearing from Senate colleagues that the GOP can be expected to make Senate reconciliation as difficult and drawn-out as possible through delaying tactics. President Obama may wind up just signing the Senate bill into law no changes whatsoever -- preserving some of the most egregious elements that made the Senate bill such a public lightning rod.

These include not just the "Cornhusker Kickback," "Louisiana Purchase" and other special-interest deals rolled into the Senate bill last December to buy wavering Democratic votes. Democrats also would have to explain all over again why 800,000 seniors in Florida will be spared Medicare Advantage cuts, while those elsewhere won't.

I think we have to keep repeating the statement: He will just sign the Senate version into law. It will have passed both houses!!!

I don’t know about that. Do you think he has those kind of gonads? He might—and I have a feeling we’re about to find out—but I’ll still be a bit surprised if he does.

Based on their performance so far, I'd have to say "yes".

Some people, like Sean Hannity, think Congress critters, like Bart Stupak, will cave and ObamaCare will pass the House. If so, it’s a “done deal” in the Senate.

Not the John McCain and Orrin Hatch-types but there has to be more than a few Senators like Jim Bunning and John Cornyn in the Senate. (Sorry, but, other than on the Health Care issue, I don't have that much confidence in Scott Brown.)

I wonder if they know Obama plans to replace them.

With a conviction to make the 2010 campaign ride on overturning any passage, I’d say yes they do have spine. Consider that to run on overturning means that it don’t matter whether there is reconciliation or not. Either way, -14 signs it. Conservatives, freedom lovers, liberty cohorts will defeat it, kill it, overturn it and quarter and disembowel it. And the remaining republicans will follow too.

Are you kidding, Obama would sign it in a heart beat and stab anyone in the back he needs to. This is the holy grail. He will get it any way he can.

I dont put alot of stock in what the pubbies say they will do if the take everything over in 2010.I remember how damned idiotic they were to the run up to 2006 and 2008.They had both houses and lost them.I say on purpose.People cant be that stupid.Remember they are politicians and crave power and look at the power they will have over the rest of us with mandated gubmint health car/gubmint control.Watch and see if I am not right on.I hope I turn out to be wrong and if so I will freely admit it.

The president has 10 days, not counting Sundays, to sign a bill or return it to the house it originated from with his objections. That means both Houses of Congress have 10 days to get the fix to Obama’s desk before he MUST sign the bill. So sign the bill he will and the chances of any fixes ever passing are slim.

That will unfortunately never happen. If Obamacare gets signed, it’ll never be overturned or even de-funded.

Amended, perhaps. Somewhat. But we’ll never be rid of it, or its damaging effects.

There is no freedom while this monster is in effect, if it should become [temporary] law. It WILL be defeated, even if it takes to the termination of time itself.

The republicans won’t be able to stand the pressure of being painted as taking away the poor and public’s healthcare.

The thing is to never let it be signed into law. The battle is NOW, not later. Later, it’s already too late.

The best part of this article is the title:

Don't Take Any Obama Wooden Nickels

If Obama can't pull his wagons together in a circle before Easter; and the boll weevils return to their home states, the struggling President may feel the need to surpass 8 cigarettes a day and moderate drink in awaiting their return.

Obama will cease to be of any value when and if the HealthCare show is suddenly over.

Those would violate the Equal Protection Clause (I'm not Captain Obvious, but we did go to school together). Thanks GOP_Lady.
