Time to act on health care, Obama declares
Associated Press ^ | March 3, 2010

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama urged Congress Wednesday to vote "up or down" on sweeping health care legislation in the next few weeks, endorsing a plan that denies Senate Republicans the right to kill the bill by stalling with a filibuster.

"I don't see how another year of negotiations would help. Moreover, the insurance companies aren't starting over," Obama said, rejecting Republican calls to begin anew on an effort to remake the health care system.

The president made his appeal as Democratic leaders in Congress surveyed their rank and file for the votes needed to pass legislation by majority vote—invoking rules that deny Senate Republicans the right to block it through endless stalling debate. Obama specifically endorsed that approach

SET THEIR LOCAL AND DC LINES ON FIRE!

PLEASE ASK THEM TO REPEAL THE BIG NEW FEES in TRICARE for Life, the retired Military over 65 secondary health ins. which they passed in a DOD bill. They promised our Military these benefits, and our Military have earned them.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

This has nothing to do with the Senate.

The vote that manners is in the House.

If the anti-abortion funding group are truely honest, led by Stupeck, then the Bill won't pass

"I don't see how another year of negotiations would help

OK, so waiting another year to get it right makes no sense, Barry is going to shove it through on just Democrat votes.

So, why wait "a few weeks" to do that? Could it be they don't have the votes???

That’s another [intentional] blind spot that leftists have -

they won’t accept that their solutions start from the morally inferior position of being FORCED, literally with the threat of deadly consequences, on people,

whereas private solutions offer choice to accept or decline.

Start printing the Medicare cut articles and passing them out to all the senior citizens you know...nothing like made grannies. Standing out front of a SS office with signs about the cuts could be an option, just stay on the sidewalk.

I don't get the carrot and stick act here by Harkin in the Senate, the Senate will not through reconciliaiton add back this provision, it was never in the cards. We will see if Stupak is a CINO or not. I mean if you can't stand up for life, innocent life your not worth a crap and I would question your salvation cause you never really beleived after all. Hey Bart the bible says that works is a sign of salvation, well time to show you love Jesus more than you love yourself, epitome of Christianity.

Does anyone think that there are the votes in the House to pass the Senate bill? I think Pelosi is lying when she says she has the votes.
