Haring is a knucklehead for running in 15. Garza is interesting. nobody raised any money.
Yet again, Paul glides to victory, this time with 81 percent!
Pretty much. I'd add that wouldn't be much different from the status quo. The only thing that would change is the content of the pointless resolutions that nobody reads. The current State Republican Convention is little more than a giant tent revival meeting run by the kookiest of kooky TBN-style religious fundamentalist wack-a-doodles. I honestly can't see how the Paulbots would make it any more of a freak show than it is. It'd just be a different cult in charge.
Huh? Not sure I get the metaphor, what do you mean?
But that doesn't mean I want Paul to be my president too. Different job, different duties, and different expectations of what I want from him.
Though of course they'd all be better than the marxist Zero.
It's dumb to let those slots go to waste. You should have had a list of people to nominate. That way you can counteract the Paulistas in other precincts.
That sorta depends on whether you're a bystander... or the target... /g
And then they get to their pointless resolutions. It becomes obvious that there's something wrong with these people when they spend more time discussing a resolution to create a stupid pro-life license plate decal than they do on, oh, say doing something about the FEDERAL INCOME TAX or OUT OF CONTROL DEFICITS.
As a non-fundamentalist mainline Christian, I felt very alienated because it was clear we were in the religious minority even though I could have easily been one of the most die hard conservative pro life people in the room. They tried to get me to buy tickets to some goofy evangelical prayer breakfast at registration. I said "no thanks" and got a bunch of angry glares as if I were some liberal infiltrator - and that was from the people working the registration table for the Republican Party itself!
in HOUSE 17, it is Flores and Curnock in RUNOFF. McIntyre fails. FLORES seems just fine to me.
IN HOUSE 23, it is Hurd and Canseco in RUNOFF. Lowry fails.
Canseco reports he is in debt $900,000. If this is true, cannot see how he can run an effective campaign in fall.
DJ
are we correct there are no interesting HOUSE races in TEX
outside of 17, 23, and maybe 15?
“She killed her chances with her DUmmyish 9/11 truther crap.”
This must be a lesson. Get rid of Ron Paul/ Adam Kokesh jerks.
Yes. They're trying to infiltrate the conservative movement with their moonbatty priciples. They do this by running Paul Cultists on the Republican ticket. These people make a great first impression, but a closer look will reveal their true agenda.
They failed with Debra Medina.
They won't quit trying, however. Paulbots are all about swarming and spamming. And they'll probably be more careful after the Medina fiasco.
I'm all for LOTS of new, conservative faces in Congress and other offices. But we must be watchful and ensure that the Paulbots aren't trying to sneak their own in on us.
Well, if there was a “throw-the-bums-out” tide, you didn’t see it in Texas. Most incumbents won with little resistance.
BTW, I saw that one GOP candidate was Blake Farenthold. Is he related to “Sissy” Farenthold and wasn’t Sissy a Dem?
I saw that! Such a shame! < /sarc >
The Houston Chronicle endorsed Hutchison and Earle. I love that they screwed up on those two picks while once again showing their true lefty colors.
His precinct has stuck with him for a long time - through a ton of negative Democrat ads over the years. I could accept "Rep. No" as my congressman but certainly wouldn't support him for president. Wouldn't mind seeing him as Budget Director in some future GOP cabinet. That would scare the crap out of most Democrats. (he he)
It's best to simply ignore candidates like that because they have a tendency to disqualify themselves from the running. Medina did just that, and all your whining about supposed Ron Paul attempts to invade the GOP accomplished absolutely nothing other than to distract you from the real issues of this contest. I should also probably note that many of the people who think there's a "truther conspiracy" to take over the Republican Party are every bit as conspiratorial and nutty about that supposed yet in fact nonexistent takeover as the truthers are about their 9/11 nonsense. Seriously, quit huffing the bat guano.
Meanwhile, while you were distracted in la-la land waging battle against an imaginary truther threat, you just reelected a governor who:
1. Signed a massive state franchise tax increase
2. Signed one of those stupid "hate crimes" laws
3. Flip-flopped to the amnesty side on immigration after campaigning against it
4. Endorsed that pro-family, pro-life, traditional values conservative hero Rudy Giuliani for President
5. Appointed a liberal abortionist justice to the State Supreme Court
6. Mandated that every 12 year old girl in Texas be vaccinated for STDs, and
7. Started his illustrious statewide political career by serving as Texas chairman of the Al Gore '88 presidential campaign
Ignorance at the ballot box has consequences. I just gave you 7 of them, all documented facts. And yet something tells me you will remain oblivious as ever, then return to celebrating your "victory" over the phantom Medina menace.
To what end? Exactly what does it accomplish to waste your time fighting for meaningless delegate slots to a meaningless political convention with a bunch of idiots who have also yet to discover they are fighting for something meaningless? It's not even a presidential year, so there's no national convention delegates to eventually elect out of the process either (not that they do anything anymore other than rubber stamp the pre-selected candidate).
So what's the worst that can happen if the Paulbots show up instead of you? Them passing a stupid resolution calling for banks to secede from the Federal Reserve in place of your own equally stupid resolution in support of pro-life license plate decals? Neither will matter at the end of the day as the politicians simply ignore those things and ignore the people who write them.
“No runoff? Kay being gracious in defeat?”
Yeah, real gracious of KBH to say that she wouldn’t call for a run-off after knowing that Perry would end up with over 51%.
I don’t give a rat’s ass about whatthe NRSC thinks about TX or any other state; conservatives should apply pressure on KBH to live up to her word and resign. Is Cornyn that concerned about a Senate election in TX in a year like 2010? Well, if Cornyn himself were running there wouldbe cause for concern, but Tea Partiers and other conservatives would rally around Michael Williams.
