Temporary emergency business shutdowns don’t get counted in unemployment figures... do they?

Somebody is going to have to explain that being out of work for 2-4 days because of a blizzard is recorded in the numbers as job loss and eligible for unemployment.
Seriously.

Uh, so in reality, the unemployment numbers are becoming so bad so fast, the Zero’s merry ban of lying socialist scumbags can no longer gerrymander the numbers. That’s a shame...

It’s a Global Warming thing. You wouldn’t understand.

Wouldn’t the snow and the closings of government offices have delayed many people from applying for their unemployment benefits, resulting in a reduction in the unemployment numbers?

There is a weeks delay before you are eligible for unemployment. And yes I am an expert, I have over 12 months experience.

Self employed who are out of business does NOT count either.
Two business in town are closing doors after being in families for more than 100 years.

One question the state-run nimrods should ask but won’t... How is it the people who are losing their jobs because of the weather, are still able to get to the unemployment office to apply for their benefits?
To: The Magical Mischief Tour
Yeah right!
Any ole excuse will do.

Construction activity was hit particularly hard by the storms, but many restaurants and stores also had to close, putting the brakes on hiring plans and temporarily throwing some employees out of work. This sounds like BS because a waiter DOES NOT FILE for unemployment because their restaurant says "Don't come in today, we're closed due to the storm".

Barak was drunk when he came up with that. You’ll have to excuse him.
