President Barack Obama is using nicotine replacement therapy to help himself quit smoking, according to the results of his physical exam released Sunday.

Navy Capt. Dr. Jeff Kuhlman examined Obama at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland Sunday morning and recommended that the president "continue smoking cessation efforts."

Obama's opponents and some in the press raised his cigarette smoking as an issue on the campaign trail. Last June, Obama called himself a "former smoker" who occasionally "slips up" and has a cigarette, but never in front of his family.

Otherwise, Kuhlman noted that Obama is in "excellent" health and is "fit for duty" and is expected to remain that way for the duration of his presidency.

I recall the press making a big deal about him being a recovering alcoholic. During some point in his adminstration a few media douches said he was exhibiting characteristic "dry drunk" behavior. Bizarro.

It is interesting all of the stories out of the press are focused on Obama’s smoking, while skimming over (or even omitting) the important part of the story:

Obama’s doctors told him to reduce his ALCOHOL intake.

Obama drinks too much. So much “too much” that he is putting his health at risk. How much does someone need to drink everyday before a doctor starts warning you about it? 1 drink, 2 drinks, 3, 5, 7 10, how many?

President Obama HAS a drinking problem (or his doctors wouldn’t have advised him to reduce his alcohol intake). The only question is how bad is the president’s drinking problem?

Obama is a homosexual. It’s that simple. When he was in Chicago it was common knowledge (I don’t live there, Thank God!, but people who do have said) that he hung out at the gay bath houses. He’s a fag. He had no girlfriend, none has surfaced, he lived with men, look at that photo! Siddiq now lives in Seattle and the only info says he “fundraises for community theater”.

This is actually only one of a few things I like about this man.

1. He is a good Dad. He is smart enough to send his kids to private schools in DC. He wouldn’t let his precious offspring go to gang filled public schools that he subjects the unwashed masses to by rescinding the DC scholarship program.

2. He is a smoker. But he is stuck in a PC nanny state world of his own making. He can’t even enjoy it. The irony is rich.

How many FReepers would love to be the most powerful man in the world as POTUS for just one day and be able to blow smoke in the face of any foreign leader or domestic Senator or Representative you wanted?

Even if you don’t like smoke personally, the fantasy is something to dream about.

Quitting cold turkey caused all those symptoms. I took Chantix to help stop smoking ... it’s the ONLY thing that worked for me.

In the interest of full disclosure, my mother in law also used Chantix to quit smoking and it worked for her. She is not any nuttier now than before she did it. I still love her! :-)

But do you realize the connection between Big PhRMA and tobacco control? They fund all of their conferences and junkets at fun resorts. It’s pretty disgusting. I’m actually pretty jealous of my fellow citizens who don’t know what is going on. I was much happier when I didn’t pay attention to these things. You’re better off being ignorant.
