Sirens going off right now as we speak for the second time. First time was at six. They are still saying heavy warnings only for now but I am in such a low area that I will leave for a friends house in a safe place fairly soon. My daughter left awhile ago for higher ground and called me to say that every gas station they passed was long long lines. I and my daughter just happened to gas up yesterday. Good timing. Got some stuff loaded with extra gas and water but if it hits would lose lots of personal items but of course our lives are the only real important thing.
The tsunami that hit Hilo hard and killed over 40 people was a 9.1 and that was also from Chile. This one was 8.8 and that is big. I'm only seven feet above sea level so am sure I will be evacuated. I have a place to go and not too far away above the danger zone so may be off the computer for several hours soon. Things are really buzzing here on Maui right now. Aloha
