Researchers in Texas say they have found a way of cutting the cost of producing gasoline by two thirds, taking advantage of the lowest grade of coal available - one that is abundant beneath the Canadian prairies.
A new refining process being perfected at the University of Texas at Arlington can turn the low-cost lignite coal, also known as brown coal, into oil at a fraction of the cost of importing crude oil from abroad.

The lignite found in Texas tends to be relatively low in sulfur.

Is there anything that Texas isn’t blessed with?
The Arab oil interests can afford to donate $BILLIONS to the eco-fascist movement, in order to preserve their income from oil. Enough money to utterly control it.
Cutting the cost of the process by two thirds in pretty damned impressive if true.
We need some democrats there to make it illegal or to tax it to death.
The really awful part is, you're probably exactly right.
Good news. Obama wants to bankrupt the coal industry.
The actual goal of the left is to make it impossible for the serfs to use energy, because energy usage equates to independence.
Any viable, cheap energy source will be villified and made illegal and inaccessible.
I find Texas quite lacking in Moose population.
When my wife and I made the huge decision to pull up stakes in California and move to Texas, we had little appreciation for what a sound decision we were making.
At the time, we were mostly impressed with the great housing prices, and the better character of the place.
Once we were here, and we began to learn more and more about the state, I was in a constant state of surprise at the positives that kept popping up. Suffice it to say that I now feel like we stumbled onto the one safe island in a sea of storms and chaos.
And now this. As if the future weren't already bright enough for Texas. This state could once again become a major exporter of fuel for the rest of the country. Outstanding!
“Is there anything that Texas isnt blessed with?”
A dearth of Democrats.
