(WXYZ) - The FBI is confirming raids at the offices of three Michigan auto suppliers who do work for Toyota.
Search warrants were served Tuesday evening at Yazaki North America, DENSO International and Tokai Rika. Yazaki sells electronic components and DENSO makes accelerator pedals.
Denso has released the following statement about the situation "DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM), U.S. subsidiary of DENSO Corporation, was inspected on February 23, 2010 by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice in regard to U.S. antitrust laws. DIAM is cooperating with this investigation."

What the HE!! justifies this?
Seems that Insurance companies, as well as individuals had notified the Government oversight agencies of Toyota problems, the government took no actions (lobby efforts may have played a part).
Of course the Government wants to keep the focus on Toyota to take the spotlight off of their own failure, any positive effects for Gov. Motors is just icing on the cake, so there is plenty of motive.
“Sounds a bit Reichstag fire-ish, but jack-booted things like this have occurred before (thinking Elian Gonzalez).”
And our current Attorney General orchestrated the Good Friday fiasco involving Elian when he was an assistant Attorney General under (excuse the unintended visual:) El Reno.
EODGUY
Notice from the proletariat: JOIN THE UNION OR WE’LL DESTROY YOU!!!
Welcome to the fascist state.
That's what I was thinking about the Congressional hearings. Not their business.
Yes, it is interesting. The reports about gas pedal malfunction on Toyotas is widely reported, yet almost no attention at all that the part in question is made by a US company.
Mr. Toyota apparently hasn’t learned how to play the blame game yet.
I would cheer Toyoto if they moved every one of their US jobs out of here in protest
of the 0bama communist regime.
Got to shut down the competition
not related to the current acceleration problems........geez but ot was so far into the article
I’m sure if they stood up today and said, okay we’ll have all our workers become UAW members, all this hassle from the zer0 administration would fade away.
Less than two weeks ago I suggested here on FR that it was GM taking out the competition. The notion that they would be so brazen was dismissed out of hand.
So perhaps I was right. Na na na na na.
Preety soon we will hear some code words to know it's coming. Compound, gun dealer, meth operation, daughter raper, father raper, tea bagger.........
OOOps.....Never mind!
1. To help Government Motors
2. Toyota is mostly non-union
3. Toyota factories are mostly located in the South (red states)
4. Distraction for ramming through Obamacare
Let's check the Big 3's record on recalls that never got this much attention. Just google "largest auto recalls" and see who usually has plenty of them. That's not to say Toyota doesn't have a safety issue to deal with but I think there's a lot more to it mostly due to the Chicago thugs in the WH.
The lady who was crying yesterday during her testimony,,, SOLD the car. New owners have since put over 25.000 miles on the car and found NO PROBLEMS!
Paybacks are HELLLLL!
what a stupid Bamster move...I thought our allies would LOVE us now that the Bamster can build such good diplomatic relationships!
no surprise Hussein Obama to do something like this.
Yeah, but of course Hussein and the rest of the radical left wouldn’t DARE CONSIDER trampling on OUR rights or liberty!!! HA!!!
Not standard pratice BUT this tactic has been used before. Generally by the IRS. Was done to Ketchikan Pulp Company many years ago when I was living there for a ??????CLAIMED?????? Enviroment incident that did not happen. All it took was one disgrunted terminated employee and the Storm troopers came a knocking in the same fashion. Another example. Ellio Gonzales and Yanet Reno ring a bell???????
Wow. My paranoia about this administration is going off the charts....
