I don’t know why some FReepers call Ron Paul crazy, when Obama is crazier.
To: NormsRevenge
If the numbers were remotely accurate, they would be saying Paul to Romney. If 7% were accurate, it wouldn’t make sense to put a weak fourth place finisher in the headlines.
I suspect that 0% of GOProud voted for her.

So about 600 people were polled, that alone tells the story. The news massaging the numbers to make it look as if Paul is the front runner.

US conservatives prefer Paul to Palin: poll
The headline is journalism at its worst. It's false and extremely misleading. A poll of "US conservatives" was not taken in this case. A straw poll of those attending a CPAC convention was. Two entirely different things.

Palin’s core supporters tend to be over 40, and in rural areas, ie not the type of folks you would see at CPAC.

2 things:
Only 25% of the crowd voted.
Most of the 25% were 18-34 in age.
That should tell you everything you need to know!
Attracting young people is fine .. but a lot of them are just dumb when it comes to politics.

A straw poll of US conservative activists saw Texas congressman Ron Paul emerge as the preferred Republican presidential candidate to run against President Barack Obama in 2012.
Some 31 percent of the more than 2,000 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) attendees who participated in the poll voted for the outspoken libertarian.
The straw poll isn’t representative of the Republican voter by any stretch. Of the 10,000 registered attendees the voting was done by 2395 of them. Of the 2395 48% were students and 56% were under 25 years of age. I don’t think that is representative of the Republican voter at large thus to extrapolate this poll to the Republican populace is in error, imo.

Sarah doesn’t scare just the democrats - she scares the establishment GOP - they all have dreams of becoming POTUS - she’s a threat...
She’s also who we need - and the new people the Tea Party is finding - to replace the ‘establishment retreads.”
I don’t want to see the same old candidates - there’s not ONE of them I’d want to vote for.

This is a highly misleading headline. "US Conservatives" don't prefer Paul. A minority of CPAC attendees does. Paul repeatedly scrapes the bottom of the barrel in nationwide conservative polls.
