Apparently, they are saying not just that the stimulus “saved” jobs, but also that the stimulus “created” jobs. Where are they? Certainly not in my neck of the woods. Possibly in Washington, DC.

Communist countries behind the iron curtain were famous for big lies like this, but nobody believed it.

Just this article saved 10,000,000 jobs.

All of the major economic research firms that have studied the stimulus’ effect have come to this conclusion.

Just like "all the major climate scientists" agree that globull warming is real.

Let’s pretend, just for shits and giggles, that this 2.5 million number is true.

Uh, my calculator broke. How much is that PER JOB?

"Still, though, it’s ridiculous to deny, as many have, that adding 2.5 million jobs was a poor use of government funds."

Even if we assume that number is correct (which obviously it is not inasmuch as 4 million jobs have been lost since the stimulus was passed), I don't think it is worth mortgaging our children's future, our grandkids', their grandkids', and frankly, our own future, to create a measily 2.5 million jobs that would have been replaced by the capitalist system if the politicians had not intervened and commandeered those workers for the public sector.

It’s only the editor at the Boston Globe opinion, to which he is entitled. We know better though, don’t we?

Even accepting the premise that the 800 billion dollar stimulus created 2.5 million jobs, that still works out to $320,000 per job.

"THE NUMBERS are in, and there can no longer be any doubt that President Obama’s stimulus bill, passed just over a year ago, helped pull America from the brink of economic catastrophe, in part by creating millions of jobs that would not otherwise have existed."

What is this person smoking?

If we assume the $1.250 Trillion number ... about $500,000 per job. Anyone one on Free Republic get one of those jobs? Cause I sure missed out.

Possibly in Washington, DC.

Nope. Not here.

There still are plenty of Steamfitters, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters and on and on that are still unemployed or underemployed with not that much work on the books ready to break.

Although construction has improved some what in this area, it is a false sign because it always improves a little going into spring.
