Ron Paul Wins CPAC 2012 Presidential Straw Poll
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
I would bet not actually. Ron Paul is reviled here because he does not think that the Iraq invasion was necessary, among other things including exactly how much of the world the US decided that it needed to try to include within the US sphere of influence. Indeed, the Condi Rice proposition that there are no spheres of influence was the proposition that the entire world is our sphere of influence, entirely overlooking that the radius of influence is determined by geometric distances over which you can sustain substantial projection of power, including the effective occupation of land (requiring boots on the ground).
William F. Buckley was a strong critic of Bush's Iraq invasion as well. His criticism and Ron Paul's were prescient. We are now bankrupt. A major cause of that is the direct cost of Iraq, and, probably more significant, the indirect cost that to get democratic buy in to invade Iraq Bush had to agree to ruinous social arrangements.
So, no, William F. Buckley is at peace with his Redeemer who liveth.
CPAC website says 2395 voted in 2010 straw poll with more than 10,000 in attendance.
Any definition of conservative that includes McCain as President is certainly elastic enough to include Ron Paul.
All the more reason that REAL Conservative should consider a third option.
“Bailout Barack is a Wall Street Bolshevik.”
You are CORRECT and I am WELL aware of that.
Take a look at the pieces of information cited below. Together they put the full face on the “situation.”
“Obama, the Black Panther Party (BPP), Black Liberation Army (BLA), Weather Underground (WU), global Muslim Brotherhood (MB) network, Al Qaeda, and Kenyan and American Politics are All Interconnected”
Why Obama’s Purpose is to Fail America
Is Obama a Marxist, Maoist, Leninist, Stalinist, or Just a Run of the Mill Communist? A Timeline
The WOT was 100 billion, and Obama spends
10 times that on bankers and terrorists every 5 months.
The bankruptcy is mainly from the Democrats.
When Romney beats Palin, then the movement has been co-opted.
What a sham!
Wrong conclusion. When Romney beat Palin, someone clearly showed up with their supporters and someone didn't. On the surface it shouldn't bode all that bad for Palin but I think it is bad for her - she should (needs to) have more "reflexive" support than that to win the GOP nomination.
Ron Paul was just sheer force of grassroots however.
People think Bleck was awesome so I too am confused. As for Ron Paul, he can never win, but I don’t think Palin can either. I would go with H. Barbour over most of the rest.
Freepers can’t seem to grasp this simple premise.
Either you have not heard, or you do not want to hear? less than 20% took part in the poll,of those that took part in the poll, 50%+ where under the age of 25.
Now that you know the facts, perhaps you could rethink your post? Might also consider that George Will got a standing ovation...roll eyes
George Will is a POS, so what`s that all about?
Sadly, its a bipartisan culture of bankruptcy.
If that was the case, then why was there a LOUD BOO after it was announced??
Nice try!
“CPAC is now a homosexual RINO fest.”
That so called straw poll results appear to be due to AIDs dementia combined with the rampant drug use in that population which supposedly voted.
CPAC is now a sick joke like Log Cabin Republicans.
Gee, I thought there was a big storm about Palin not speaking at CPAC.
I wonder what she knew, and how she knew it before everyone else. ;^)
Find me a social conservative who is really serious about cutting government spending and ending the devaluation of the dollar that cheats middle class savers.
Until then there is Ron Paul.
When was the last time the winner of this poll actually won the GOP nomination or the General?
