Ryan Sorba booed off CPAC stage for anti-homosexual remarks
Right Pundits ^ | Feb 19, 2010 | Donald Borsch Jr.

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

The homosexual agenda is all about using government to force public acceptance of homosexuality in every aspect upon the public. It is all about force.

Yes, but was Rock Hudson a flaunting gay who campaigned for absurdities like gay marriage?

No, he wasn't. And there is no proof that these gay, conservative Republicans are doing that either. When they do, then I will object.

I've heard that there is a HUGE gathering of newly post collage grads there along with the Tea Party Express. Those who think social values arepart of the new movement are in for a big surprise. College kids don't care any more and as Cheney said it's a generational thing.

That said it's one thing to have gay groups co-sponser which they are not but another to publicly flog them. That's what gets the name "American Taliban" applied by the media.

I doubt Reagan was “embracing” homosexuals, and he certainly never spoke about giving them special rights.

Reagan: “My criticism is that [the gay movement] isn’t just asking for civil rights; it’s asking for recognition and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle which I do not believe society can condone, nor can I.”

On the other hand, he invited an openly homosexual couple to sleep in the White house. He was not intolerant, even though he did not condone homosexuality. I think the line Reagan walked would be a sound one for us today, hate the sin, love the sinner, fight against special rights, fight against the movement to condone homosexual acts, but be tolerant of others, and don’t make sexual orientation a litmus test.

If you know much of anything about the homosexual movement, then you would know that they will not simply be against higher taxes, but against those who do not promote of homosexuality as healthy.

“Live and let live” requires a commitment to traditional morality that agrees with the Bible, and a “conservatism” which is really libertarianism will result in just the opposite of the latter.

NOOOOO! Please don’t. I can’t afford an eye doctor right now.

I’m saying that I’m against it, even if it is happening now. I don’t think it’s good for children.

When they do, then I will object.

By the time the truth dawns on you, it will be too late.

It might already be too late. Even here at FR, a substantial number of "conservatives" have completely caved.

They may have won the war without ever firing a shot, because they lulled the sentries asleep.

Leftists will hate conservatives with rabin, unreasoning slavish hatred no matter what conservatives say or do. We’d have to totally reject every conservative principle and join their ranks to please them.

So sucking up to them saying “we really like ‘gays’ - we just don’t want the homosexual agenda” will do nothing. Nothing.

Very well said. Sadly the debate is squelched by demagogy.

pedophilia is a criminal act. If homosexuality was a crime, I wouldn’t want the support of homosexuals.

But when it comes to winning an election, I don’t think it’s wise to tell sinners not to vote for our candidates.

The fact is that all laws regarding behavior impose someones morality, but in a secularist stare then the morality is ever morphing.

Even the Unitarian “Father of the Common School,” Horace Mann (May 4, 1796 — August 02, 1859), who became Massachusetts Secretary of Education in 1837, not only understood the impossibility of separating education from religious moral beliefs, but held that it was lawful to teach the truths of the general Christian faith, asserting that the “laws of Massachusetts required the teaching of the basic moral doctrines of Christianity.” Mann, who supported prohibition of alcohol and intemperance, slavery and lotteries, (http://www.famousamericans.net/horacemann) dreaded “intellectual eminence when separated from virtue”, that education, if taught without moral responsibilities, would produce more evil than it inherited. (William Jeynes, “American educational history: school, society, and the common good,” p. 149, 150)

A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.

To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.

There is not in all America a more dangerous trait than the deification of mere smartness unaccompanied by any sense of moral responsibility.[39]

A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.

In this actual world, a churchless community, a community where men have abandoned and scoffed at or ignored their religious needs, is a community on the rapid down grade. - Theodore_Roosevelt

There are gay people who aren’t pushing a public gay agenda. It will hurt the fight against the gay agenda if we don’t distinguish between our disdain for special treatment of gays, and gays themselves. The left wants to say that our argument against gay marriage is because we hate gay people. Unfortunately, that is true for a few people, but we need to make it clear that’s not what drives conservatives. Agreed. Excellent point!

It’s not what you say. It’s that homosexuals want to change the Republican party into a homosexual agenda pushing party. Do you want that?

They should never have let them sponsor, this is what they got. They should have known this would happen. Oh thats right, some of us knew it would happen.

Keep pushing and pushing the bar keeps moving and moving.

Simply read your reply in the context of the discussion.

Having a homesexual friend does not, repeat, does not mean you, or Ronald Reagan embraces a homosexual agenda.

I do not embrace a homosexual agenda, nor do I think some of the other poster here do either.

I simply don’t care to have you tell me what I can do with my life, any more than I want Obama, or Pelosi, or Reid or anyone else to tell me what I can do.

If “conservative” gays push things I am opposed to such as Nambla, gay marriage, etc., then I will push back. But until such, I will fight for their right to do what they want in private.

Gay people who aren't pushing a public gay agenda would not have publically booed Sorba off the stage at PAC.
