Ryan Sorba booed off CPAC stage for anti-homosexual remarks
Right Pundits ^ | Feb 19, 2010 | Donald Borsch Jr.

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

Sorry, but you added a qualification not included in your post #11.

I stated that Ronald Reagan had gay friends, among them, conservative gay Republican, Rock Hudson.

Did RR “embrace” their lifestyle? No, but he included them in his circle of friends.

“I don’t think we should give them gay marriage or gay adoption ever”

What is your specific reasons for believing that? Please state.

That's true and I am but many Republicans and Tea Party types are there just for low taxes. They don't see anything else as being important, and certainly not lifestyle choices (depraved as these may be).

And that's what's wrong with a lot of the self-proclaimed Tea Party movement.

Let's face it - if you're only for half of conservatism, then you're not for conservatism. Conservatism is a self-contained, all-encompassing worldview, rather than just a "made for the ballot" laundry list of policy positions. Conservatism stands for the rule of law (constitutionalism), fiscal responsibility, strong national defence, AND traditional values because all of these things are interrelated. To only have one or two of them is to merely have a cannibalised shadow of conservatism - and the depth of understanding of the reasoning for why conservatism is what is is simply will not be there. This is ultimately why libertarianism fails as a coherent worldview. They want the freedom, but not, ultimately, the responsibility and moral grounding that must come with it. Our Founders understood that these must go together, though many modern libertarians who claim the Founders as their ideological forebearers do not.

True. How long do you suppose America would have lasted, or how far it would have gone, if San Franciso type morality was its foundation? Well, you can be a conservative and not be a Christian, but you cannot be a Christian and not be a conservative in the West. And those who define conservative as including homosexuality are like those who define marriage as to include homosexual unions.

Joining CAPAC is another tactic. Read on the deceit behind the use of homophobia: http://conservapedia.com/Homophobia

“We don’t need to condone their behavior, but Gays need Jesus as much as everyone else.”

Again, this is so simple. NAMBLA members need Jesus too, as well as polygamists, thieves, and alcoholics. Should we recognize and welcome a group called ‘CONSERVAdrunk’ which has alcoholic members who insist that alcoholism is normal and even hold pride parades to celebrate alcoholism? Hello?

Yes, but was Rock Hudson a flaunting gay who campaigned for absurdities like gay marriage?

Jefferson had a lot to say about liberty.

I suggest you read him.

Agreed. Many of these posters want to impose their values on others, in the same manner liberals want to control us. Thus, they become the same arbiters of individual liberty as those they despise.

“I can give a hoot what any adult does as long as they are not interfering in the rights of others.”

OK, so you are a Libertarian, not a Conservative. It’s called CPAC for a reason.

CPAC should have learned that catering to the homosexual crowd will only result in the loss of dozens of votes in the House and the Senate. That was what precipitated the 2006 losses ~ with Mark Foley messing with former pages, and Senator Craig exhibiting his "wide stance" in the Minneapolis men's room.

The fact the homosexuals could still get into a leading position at CPAC suggests the battle is not over.

A purge is needed ~ of the homosexuals hooting at a speaker AND the people who invited the homosexuals.

Homosexuals, like RINOs should never be allowed into major Conservative or Republican party organizational leadership positions, nor allowed to set the agenda.

Blasphemous.

True to form, those who promote this force homosex into places where it does not belong.

If you have an alcoholic friend, does that mean you promote alcoholism?

Thanks for proving my point.

Agreed. Many of these posters want to impose their values on others, in the same manner liberals want to control us. Thus, they become the same arbiters of individual liberty as those they despise.

So, ah, would reading up on what Jefferson had to say about liberty include reading the bill he authored for the Virginia legislature in which homosexuals would be punished with emasculation?

That's the problem with you folks who want to whine about "people who want to impose their values on others." You often simply don't know what you're talking about. Trying to appeal to Jefferson, at least on THIS issue, is going to get you nowhere fast.

Also, nobody is trying to "impose" anything on anybody. Rather, we're trying to prevent the radical homosexual lobby (of which GOProud is a part, to be sure) from imposing itself onto the public life of our society as a whole. As such, the whole "I don't care what they do in private" argument has ZERO bearing on this. There's nothing "private" about trying to force the 98% of the country that is not homosexual to accept gays in the military, the redefinition of marriage, and the destruction of the traditional nuclear family.
