Coats will be a good one I think. I so can’t wait til November! Can’t believe I’m wishing my summer away but I’m going to be so happy this election. Makes up for the Colts losing :(

All plausible scenarios, but it could be simpler: Bayh may want Billy Tauzin’s job at PHarma.

This is part of a systematic Democrat effort to run "blue dog" candidates who'll lie about how fiscally conservative they are, thus making them harder to defeat.

Yep, that's the plan. I hope the GOP has kept a thick file of all the liars Emanuel ran from 2004 to 2008, and has the guts to run nasty TV ads to let the voters know exactly what the game is. Here come the new liars.

Well, if those skeletons are there, apparently whoever pulls his strings jerked too hard.

You can’t pull strings if the strings are cut. And by leaving, he screws over all of those democrats still in the Senate. Also Indiana democrats on the ballot, because he was the big ticket item that dragged all of them along.

“Holding a majority in either house (especially the Senate) is a powerful thing for a Party that does not hold the Presidency.

It can effectively stop the Administration’s agenda (see 1994), which is what is sorely needed now.

It can prevent the subversion of the Judicial Branch by Progressives, literally for generations.

Goldstein is a tough guy. He can take the hits.”

Believe me, I won’t be crying if we gain control of congress...I just think the 1,000 cut approach is better against Obama instead of a single, swift blow. 1994 is what got Clinton re-elected in 1996. A “leader” like Obama requires “absolute control” to do anything.

People, including you, have a good point on Judicial appointments made by the Senate though ... that thought hadn’t crossed my mind :-).

Planning a challenge to Obama makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is that he’d screw over the Dems by leaving them no time to field a candidate. He’d be persona non grata. Not a good way to launch a presidential bid. Unless they’ve already fielded a candidate before today’s announcement...which is my suspicion.

Retirement announcement on President’s Day! All the sweeter. LOL.

Yep, sure looks like a “whack” at Obama. I think Rush mentioned a couple of democrat names, but I had a phone call. I’m certain he’s unaware of the deadline.

One thing, for sure: he screwed the Rats in IN....Unless they already have another “D” on the primary ballot. Was that his intention?

Governor. He hinted at it late last year. What's more, he'll win, unless Tony Bennett runs.

Baron wanted it, now he'll be flushed out of the pocket to run against Coats.

I’m hoping Nevada Reids the Tea Leaves.

There was some speculation that Bayh did not enjoy the Senate like his father did. There were rumors floating around that he would resign from his Senate seat and run for Governor back before the previous election. He will probably run for Governor in ‘12 is my take.

After Hoosiers FINNALY figured out that Bayh was saying one thing in the state and voting another way in Washington, I don’t think a fake fiscal conservative is going to be successful here.

If that was true , he could have announced sooner to give Dems more time to line someone up..but maybe he did behind the scenes and they have it ready to go.

It seems like some scandal brewing or some threat behind the scenes...it doesnt make sense to screw over the Democrats if you want to run in 2012...unless you were made to do it by the Hillary cabal.

I think they are jumping because they themselves plan some unconscionable destruction to the American way of life.

Ah, thanks, so Rush is aware of the deadline.
I hate annoying phone calls at the start of Rush’s show.

Lots of luck in getting the signatures of registered “D” to be on the ballot by Friday...We’ve got 8 inches of snow already.

Where do we find out if anyone else has already registered?

These Democrats are retiring because they know there will be no fun in legislating for the next few years. They are beginning to realize what Margaret Thatcher said was right. They are running out of other people’s money.
