As far as RATS qualifying, Bayh would have been a zillion times better than obama and hillary.

Same Daily Kos that had Martha Coakley winning in Massachusetts?

True?

“Bayh’s decision will set Dems scrambling for a replacement. The deadline to file to reach the ballot is tomorrow, meaning any Dem considering running for the seat must make a decision quickly.”

Yes, without Bayh at the top of the ticket, the downballot congressional races become a disaster for the RATS. This is delicious.

The Dems were referring to a poll where Bayh was ahead by 20 against “Johnny Dangerously” or some other fictional character from 80s comedy flicks.

Either there is a sex tape floating around or he was notified by the White House that Obama was going to campaign for him.

"If he changes his mind he's still got a week to file I believe."

I think he'd come off as a snivelling politician if he came out and announced his candidacy after his very declarative announcement that he was not running for the Senate.

I want the Dems to hold the majority in both the House and Senate but with neutered margins.

Two reasons why winning the majority in the house is important:

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Former Chairman Barney Frank.

I don’t think you would see this out of Bayh if Dan Coats had not thrown his hat in the ring.

Agree. Given Indiana is one of the few states that's still running a budget surplus and has businesses flocking to it (mostly from over-taxed Illinois) this isn't a surprise. That and Bayh hooked his wagon to Obama during the 2008 elections, voted in favor of the stimulus, bailout and "health care reform" bills along with cap and trade, I think the voters in Indiana saw his true colors and were prepping to throw him out anyway. Bayh has been popular in Indiana for many years, he 'screwed the pooch' when he hitched his wagon to Obummer.....

I think the average IN voter would understand the landscape changed dramatically and wouldn’t begrudge Pence for changing his mind.

Yeah. This is the same kind of rule that stopped them from getting Frank Lautenberg on the ballot in NJ. All they’ll be scrambling is eggs as laws do not apply to these people.

Every day another democrat retires.....It is coming down to a simple choice for many of the democrat congressmen and senators.....retire or continue to put up with the strong armed tactics of Pelosi, Reid and Obama.
Never before has an elected president put so much pressure on his own party...and never before has there been such a exodus of elected officials....
Amazing....simply amazing.

Spot on. Gotta get rid of those two cretins. Specially Bawney Fwank for his hand in creating the mess that is Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac.

That's a real surprise. Never expected it.

It is like Christmas Morning for us conservatives in Indiana. Bayh drew a lot of RINO support so he was able to win 4 statewide elections. NEVER AGAIN.

Democrats are so demoralized I bet this fall even their most loyal voters, dead people, don’t bother to vote. At least not in the numbers they usually do.

The difference is that NJ is a Dem controlled state where they think nothing of breaking the rules. Indiana is controlled by Republicans where they believe in the rule of law.

I read another thread a few days ago that said like 17 GOP members were retiring or not seeking re-election, and like so far 12 Dems were doing the same.

I was stunned that the number was hirer for the GOP.
