It's being reported that a police officer from East Palo Alto joked about gunning down proponents of the second amendment on Facebook. The article in today's Mercury News tells of the police officer in question joking about shooting someone as "2 weeks off".
After several more comments in the thread, Tuason apparently joked that officers should shoot the advocates, who have made recent headlines throughout the Bay Area for sipping coffee at cafes and performing other everyday acts with visible weapons.The officer public remarks are causing a huge uproar at the popular calguns.net web site and among second amendment advocates. Several blogs and other news outlets have already picked up the story. Several members of the calgun.net website have filed complaints regarding the officers questionable comments with the East Palo Alto police department.
"Sounds like you had someone practicing their 2nd amendment rights last night!" Tuason wrote. "Should've pulled the AR out and prone them all out! And if one of them makes a furtive movement ... 2 weeks off!!!"
That dude needs to be treated the same way as any citizen who goes through a TSA checkpoint and “jokes” about having a bomb. And then he should be forever barred from working as any sort of law enforcement officer.
The ‘officer’ in question sounds like one of those types (who I don’t think other cops like either) who wouldn’t know what to do, and couldn’t survive a day on the job, if he didn’t have a gun.

In TX, you have the right to shoot a police officer abusing his position and maliciously using unlawful deadly force against others.
See Texas Penal Code 9.31 and 9.32. You will NEVER see a Texas police officer who is even vaguely conversant with the law make a comment like this.

Another Union thug with a badge. I have lots of freeper cops assure me that the last ones on board to take away citizens guns are the cops... I don’t believe them. Cops don’t work for citizens, they exist to protect and serve the institutions of government. The 2nd Amendment is the only thing that keeps government from becoming too powerful. Government KNOWS the second amendment is a threat to their power. They HATE it, and will try to tear it down if they can.
What would the police response be if a citizen joked about killing police officers?
A police officer joking about shooting legally-armed, law-abiding citizens is about as funny as citizens joking about shooting police officers, which is to say - NOT AT ALL FUNNY.
To top it off, he jokes about getting two weeks off if he has to shoot one of those law-abiding citizens for making any shifty movements. He needs more than two weeks off. He needs the rest of his career off.
Cops like him are why people like me have and carry a gun. We can’t depend on cops like him to serve and protect. We have to protect ourselves.
