Rep. Betsy Markey, D-Colo., said Saturday about the importance of a strong housing market to the health of U.S. economy during a homeowner education seminar she organized.
Home ownership has always been a part of the American dream, she said. Home ownership also is key to our economy and key to our jobs. It's very, very important that we do everything we can to keep people in their homes so we don't have a continued downward spiral of foreclosures.
About five people attended the seminar organized by Markey at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Ave. The seminar featured representatives from the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Northern Colorado and Southeast Wyoming and the Colorado Foreclosure Hotline to offer advice and some one-on-one counseling to those in attendance.
For more, read Sunday's Tribune.
And, Greeley was once the nation's leading city for growth, and then the highest foreclosure rate, all in a 3 year span....
Did she use a teleprompter?
We need to take money from people who can afford the houses they own, and give it to those who can’t, in order to maintain the American Dream.
The reporter said “about five” like they couldn’t be sure. Does this mean the reporter didn’t have enough fingers to count that high?
Given the way libs overcount the turnout for their events, if the reporter counted five, it means there were probably two.
Maybe he was unsure if a kid should be counted or not.
No one bothers to show up any more because we’ve all decided she’s history. Anything she might have to say is irrelevant anyway since she is such a liar, and she clearly does not listen to her constituents, voting for the Cap and Trade bill which is extremely antithetical to her district, all the while yammering about “green jobs”. Plus, all her campaign money comes from unions outside of her district.
It’s really not even worth showing up to ask her pointed questions to try and embarrass her.
I can’t wait for her to be gone, and will being my utmost to help see that that happens. We’re very fortunate that we have four very strong conservative Republicans vying for her seat.
I’ll be so happy when Betsy is forced to go back to baking Toll House cookies, dusting her house and the like, which is about the only relevant experience she had prior to be grabbing onto Obama’s coattails.
(It does occur to me to wonder if she’s smart enough to figure out that no one is showing up anymore because she’s already been written off by the voters.)
Is Marilyn going to attempt to reclaim her seat? She was a reliable conservative from what I recall.
Don't we WANT a downward spiral of foreclosures?
Oh, wait. What am I saying? She's a democRAT. Of course she wants an increase of foreclosures.

Markey will be a ne-termer, no question.
ne-termer = one-termer
It took Air America several years to finally pull the plug, and no one had been listening from Day 1. (Okay, maybe they listened on Day 1 out of curiosity, but no one listened from Day 2 forward.)
It was quite a racket, while it lasted, and filled the “needs” (little irony there) of some smooth government-business operators. So many suckers were sucked dry. ...regulations, regulations. Who needs competition? [Little more irony there.]
Those of you who are moral, welcome the big default that’s on the way. Like a laxative, it will do some necessary cleaning. [No irony there.]
Fortunately Marilyn won't be running again. Marilyn was essentially a conservative version of Betsy. Marilyn was another one of those clueless housewives who managed to get elected into the House for a term or two.
We've got a couple of very good Republican candidates right now, including one who has held a state-wide office. Another is minority whip in the Colorado house.
