To add to the list of outrageous earmarks in Obama's fiscal 2011 budget, ACORN, the embezzlement-prone, voter-registration-fraud-plagued, leftist community organizing group, is slated to receive nearly $4 billion from a taxpayer-funded slush fund.
The money will come from the Community Development Block Grant, one of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's longest-running programs. The HUD Web site cryptically defines the grant's purpose as providing "communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs," not a reassuring description given the group's recent past history of aiding the community through gratuitous missappropriation of funds.
Has Congress already forgotten the Sept. 2009 ban it passed on ACORN and ACORN-afiliate funding? Or the video that led to the ban, footage showing ACORN employees urging individuals they thought were a prostitute and her pimp to set up a brothel and advising the pair on evading taxpaying? It would have had a hard time doing so, cosidering that ACORN is currently suing the federal government for the attempted ban.

But here's my serious question, because I really have no clue --
What is the theoretical reason why the US government should give 4 billion dollars to an organization called "ACORN"? I mean, what is ACORN supposed to be doing, and why is it considered reasonable that my tax dollars pay for that?
I really don't get it. To me, this is just a vote-buying, leftwing scam. But I'm sure there is some kind of excuse for it that they expect us to swallow. But 4 billion?
This is gonna make my head explode.
Its vote buying with tax dollars. Its funneling money into the ‘inner city’ but the money really goes to cronies and for vote fixing.
If this happens we can forget about Nov 2010 let alone 2012 or our measly freedom.

This is an example of a program of why Ronald Reagan wanted “the line item veto.”
Four BILLION dollars? Guess they figured that would slip through unnoticed? That someone could do this anytime much less in this economy, this is breathtaking in its audacity. Four BILLION dollars?
I agree and would trust him with it. I would not trust BO with the line item veto or anything else for that matter.
Strategy is simple. Republicans should tell the US Conference of Mayors that Obama is trying to deprive them of Community Block Grants which should rightfully go to city governments.

Anyone taken a nice leisurely stroll in inner cities lately to see how beautiful and safe and secure all this money has made them?
Oh and don’t forget to ask for a guided tour of the public schools too.
This is just the above board money slated for ACORN. How many off-shoot communist organizer groups are receiving money under the table from the tarp slush fund........
