What a guy - John Edwards is reportedly making his mistress his missus.
The disgraced 2008 presidential contender has proposed to his baby-mama, Rielle Hunter, and is even setting her up in a swank $3.5 million beachfront mansion, The National Enquirer reported Wednesday.
The supermarket tabloid - which so far has been usually on target on the Edwards affair - says the cheatin' pol popped the question last month, shortly before he issued a statement claiming paternity of the couple's two-year-old daughter, Frances Quinn.
Six days later, Edward's cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, confirmed she had separated from her dog of a husband - paving the way for the ex-senator to make Rielle, 45, his wife.
"John knew Rielle had been waiting for a proposal for two long years," the Enquirer said it was told by a source. "Since they've gotten involved, she's followed every order he gave her, going on a cross-country cover-up, hiding away during her pregnancy and after giving birth for the sake of his presidential aspirations."
"Rielle never uttered a peep about their affair publicly, and remained loyal to John," added the source. "John felt she deserved to know that he wanted to raise their child together, and wanted Rielle in his life as his partner."

Seems to me, she has been claiming "terminal cancer" for 7 or 8 years now, but she still looks & acts pretty healthy.
She initiated the divorce proceedings and they have to be separated for at least a year to get a divorce. Seems like she is planning on living at least another year...

Actually, Edwards did not make his money by bringing class action suits. He was a personal injury lawyer who specialized in medical malpractice suits. Many of the cases he brought were phony as the proverbial three dollar bill, but he was pretty good at conning dumb jurors. Good training for a Democrat pol.
And we can’t forget Newt Gingrich, who wanted a divorce form his first wife as she was recovering from cancer surgery. That guy creeps me out!
Guess Elizabeth didn’t die fast enough for him.

But let’s give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she has really good doctors.

After reading Andrew Youngs book “The Politician”,Im beginning to suspect two things. Im not defending JE but it is Clear from the book that EE was an abusive spouse who may have driven JE away. Also it is possible that EEs cancer was /is a ruse to generate sympathy. ( Based on the details previously revealed, she should be dead by now) Once again NOT defending JE, just sayin.
