Sorry to be a wet blanket, but someone has to do it.
The Miss Me Yet? billboard (inspired by Jonathan Maneys t-shirts) is cute. But lets not get carried away with nostalgia.
President Bush put America on the proper war footing after 9/11 and deserves much credit for doing so, but he also:
1) joined with open-borders progressives McCain and Kennedy to try to force shamnesty down our throats;
2) massively expanded the federal role in education;
3) championed the Medicare prescription drug entitlement using phony math;
4) kowtowed to the jihadi-enabling Saudis;
5) stocked DHS with incompetents and cronies;
6) pushed Hillarycare for housing;
7) enabled turncoat Arlen Specter;
8. nominated crony Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court;
9) pre-socialized the economy for Obama by embracing TARP, the auto bailouts, the AIG bailout, and in his own words:
Ive abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system. George W. Bush
No, I dont miss having a corporate socialist Republican in the White House any more than I like having a corporate socialist Democrat in the White House now.

I’m surprised she mentioned the failed bid of Harriet Myers but left out the failed “Dubai will manage the U.S. ports” idea.

Lets not forget.
1. WOT, (including his selfless and tireless support ofr the troops and their families)
2. No terror attacks on American Soil following 911
3. Justice Roberts
4. Justice Alito
5. Tax cuts
6. No embryonic stem cell research
7. Cancellation of the Mexico City Accords
8. No to Kyoto
9. Support for missile defense.
All in all I'd rather have Bush that the committed marxist radical currently residing in the WH.

Malkin is a malcontent who likes to shock and alarm. I stopped reading her a long time ago and, in my world, she has NO credibility.
Take it easy. You don't have to agree with everything Michelle says, but just remember that, in the overall war, she is a good ally, and we need all of the allies we can get, especially those who have media access.

And that's what makes the hitcounters spin.

Malkin right, as usual. Yeah, right. So what the hell good does it do for her to join in and pile on Bush? What's the point? This is a pretty stupid, insipid and ungrateful post.

- #1 - 4) kowtowed to the jihadi-enabling Saudis;
- #2) kowtowed to the freedom-hating, genuine sub-human scum aka the PLA;
- #3) encouraged Green$pin to paper over, for the second time, the second straight natural business-cycle recession in two successive Administrations, leading directly to Depression Jr;
- #4 - 9) pre-socialized the economy for Obama by embracing TARP, the auto bailouts, the AIG bailout;
- #5 - 1) joined with open-borders progressives McCain and Kennedy to try to force shamnesty down our throats;
- #6 - 2) massively expanded the federal role in education;
- #7 - 6) pushed Hillarycare for housing.

He failed to push ANY of the conservative agenda/ Tax cuts aren't part of the conservative agenda? Appointing conservative Justices to the Supreme Court isn't? Christ almighty! How ungrateful can you get.

She is not a Sarah Palin who can make you proud to be an American, ditto for the first 4 years of President Bush.Keep in mind that Michelle has NO responsibility in this world. No decision she makes is right or wrong - just a reflection of her opinion. No opinion she has can be judged based on its worth because nothing ever happens based on her opinions.
She is a writer. She is a talker.
George W. Bush had to make real world, horrible, difficult decisions. He had the responsibility of the whole world on his shoulders for 8 years, as did Reagan before him.
Presidents Bush and Reagan are real. Sarah Palin, as governor is real. Michelle is nothing but ink and air.

Best judicial nominees in my lifetime...that includes Ronald Reagans choices (remember Sandra Day O'Conner)...and yes Harriet Myers was a mistake, but Janice Rogers Brown and Pricilla Owen more than make up for that.
A lot of the Bush bashing around here seems to derive from the illusion that when he ran, he ran as a conservative, but he ran as a "compassionate conservative," which is to say as the moderate he always was.
Stong military - Check
Tax cuts - Check
No further terrorist attacks on home soil - Check
Return honor and personal integrity to the White House - Check
Best federal bench that has been nominated in 5 decades - Check
Perfect...no, but out of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, and Obama, he certainly rates 2nd as best in my lifetime after Reagan.

What’s with this Bush bashing from Republicans/Conservatives?
Is there a purpose to this? Don’t we have enough problems with NObama’s Fundamental changes? Malkin disappoints me.

I love the sign...”Miss Me Yet”...and YES I really do miss George Bush...Thanks for keeping us safe, Thanks for Alito, and Roberts. I miss CHeney and Rummey too. All of the grown ups have left the scene. I too like Michelle, but I do not agree with her on Bush. It is good to be able to think about the good old days again

Specter was in a tight primary race in 2004 with Pat Toomey, who was a much better candidate IMO. W supported and campaigned for Specter and as a result Specter narrowly won the primary.
W's support of Specter over Toomey was stupid because Specter had gone out of his way to thwart W's agenda before the election and continued to do so after he won reelection to the Senate.

I seriously wonder how many of these "perfect" conservatives voted for Gore or Kerry.
I don't trust very many of them (in particular, the one who posted this thread) to actually be conservatives in real life.

You and I are in complete agreement here! I won’t say W didn’t disappoint at times ( we’ve ‘talked’ about that in the past ;) )but to completely disregard all the good he did...and for no other reason than to promote herself is a disgrace. This article was completely gratutitous and mean spirited.

Funny how people speak of the WOT casually as though it was a walk in the park.
People forget so easily. Staying on the offense in the WOT was amazingly HARD and we had an superlative CIC who kept us safe while sustaining the morale of the Armed Forces; not many men could have done the same and I know the Good Lord raised Bush up for such a time as that.
Yes, I DO miss President Bush. A lot.

George W. Bush Billboard: Miss Me Yet?
Nope. No more than I missed Ford during the Carter years.
When suffering through a bad administration, or two, we have to look forward, not pine backward.
