Matthew 7:24-27 (New International Version)
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24”Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Couldn’t help myself
I’d love to see a half mile high building.
The Tower of Bubble
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!
“Technical issues with the power supply are being worked on by the main and sub-contractors and the public will be informed upon completion.”
Technical issues with the electricals in the building?
They have a word for that:
FIRETRAP.
Good freaking luck rewiring that place.
Looks like it would make a great headquarters for the UN.
Then we could tear down that eyesore in New York and build something more socially acceptable. Like a pig farm.
nice one
mmmmmmmmmmm bacon, plus the muzzies would hate it.
win win
You and me both.
Genesis Ch. 11 KJV
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth...
Jubilees Ch. 10 (R.H. Charles trans., Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1913,

18 ...’Behold the children of men have become evil through the wicked purpose of building for themselves
19 a city and a tower in the land of Shinar.’ For they departed from the land of Ararat eastward to Shinar; for in his days they built the city and the tower, saying, ‘Go to, let us ascend thereby into
20 heaven.’ And they began to build, and in the fourth week they made brick with fire, and the bricks served them for stone, and the clay with which they cemented them together was asphalt which
21 comes out of the sea, and out of the fountains of water in the land of Shinar. And they built it: forty and three years were they building it; its breadth was 203 bricks, and the height (of a brick) was the third of one; its height amounted to 5433 cubits and 2 palms, and (the extent of one wall
22 was) thirteen stades (and of the other thirty stades). And the Lord our God said unto us: Behold, they are one people, and (this) they begin to do, and now nothing will be withholden from them. Go to, let us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech, and they may be dispersed into cities and nations, and one purpose will no longer abide with
23 them till the day of judgment.’ And the Lord descended, and we descended with him to see the
24 city and the tower which the children of men had built. And he confounded their language, and they no longer understood one another’s speech, and they ceased then to build the city and the
25 tower. For this reason the whole land of Shinar is called Babel, because the Lord did there confound all the language of the children of men, and from thence they were dispersed into their
26 cities, each according to his language and his nation. And the Lord sent a mighty wind against the tower and overthrew it upon the earth, and behold it was between Asshur and Babylon in the
27 land of Shinar, and they called its name ‘Overthrow’...
It used to be called the “Burj Dubai,” which means “Dubai Tower.” Now it’s called the “Burj Khalifa” after the hereditary ruler of Abu Dhabi, because Abu Dhabi kept Dubai from going bankrupt last year.
“I can get you electricians from Bangladesh. They will do the work for $20 a day!”
“Wow, what a great deal.”
i’m trying :)
Crooked contractors using a smaller wire size than they should have, leading to brownout conditions on the upper floors. Going to have to pull all the wiring again.
Perhaps the ugliest building in the world, Dear Reader's giant space nipple.
