He was a representative. I think Gov Rendell (D) names his replacement until a special election is held?
Too bad the people of Penn. didn’t send him home a couple of years ago to sit on his porch and be with his family for a few years of quality time. It would have been better for about 300 million Americans as well.
No. Rendell calls a special election. Period. No temp congressman.
No, House seats sit vacant until the next Congressional election (or special election).
Condolences to his family and prayers that God's mercy extends beyond the Cross.
nope...has to be a special election...which they probably won't bother with since the general is in November. Appointments are an option for the Senate only.
RIP. Didn’t care for him, but don’t wish death on anyone. Prayers for his family. Hope he was right with his maker.
No.
The Constitution demands that House members can ONLY be chosen by the people. The seat will remain vacant until a special election is held.
Senate vacancies, on the other hand, are filled temporarily by gubernatorial appointments.
Sorry for his family and friends.....as for him.......GOOD RIDDANCE !!!!!!!!!!!! You screwed America, Sir. Rot in hell.
Procedures governing vacancies occurring during the second session of a Congress differ from state to state, and are largely dependent on the amount of time intervening between the vacancy and the next general election. For instance, if a House seat becomes vacant within six months of the expiration of the previous incumbents term, many states allow the seat to remain vacant for a time, providing for a special election to be held on the regularly scheduled election day, at the same time that a regular election for that seat for the ensuing Congress is held. Other states, under these circumstances, do not provide for a special election, and the affected seat remains vacant until the ensuing Congress convenes the following January.Since the election has to go through primary, filing dates, notice of election etcetera, in many cases the seat stays vacant because the time required is enought to take them up to the normal next election, which is likely the case here. They never appoint replacements for House seats, but the special election is sometimes just foregone due to time issues and the seat stays vacant.

Not true. There must be an election to replace Reps. Guvs may appoint Senators.
