Millions of Americans have lost their jobs and record numbers of families are losing their homes to foreclosure, but have no fear, Barack Obama just told us how to make it through these trying times.
At a town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, Obama gave the American people a lecture on weathering the financial storm: "When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."
Excuse us? Does Obama really believe families suffering hardship and misfortune are buying boats and taking extravagant vacations? How dare the president lecture the American people, who are struggling just to make ends meet, when Obama himself fails to practice what he preaches? And as he chastises with one hand, he proposes even more economic hardship and misery with the other.
Obamas reckless campaign of tax, borrow and spend is driving this nation over a financial cliff. According to his own administrations latest estimates, the federal deficit for this current fiscal year alone is going to be a whopping 1.6 trillion dollars. Broken down by population, that's approximately 5,300 additional dollars of debt for every man, woman and child in the United States... and that's just for this year.
And to make matters worse, Obamas proposed 2011 budget, released this week, would triple the national debt over the next 10 years. As Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee put it: " Not only is this budget worse than the last one, but it triples our debt within ten years, features gushers of tax increases, and relies on some partisan commission........

This guy is either a Genius of the caliber of Einstien and we are too stupid to understand him or he is a complete idiot and
has no idea what in the hell he is doing. I rather lean to the
latter. He reminds me of Inspector Clusoe, every time he moves he’s knocking something down or breaking something. He is so lucky that many Americans are Celebrity and star struck,
without the celebrity bestowed upon him by the willing MSM he would be less than mediocre. Perhaps I have done Clusoe an injustice in the comparison. His (Obamas’) objective is to bring America to it’s knees and in this regard he is doing well.
Although the recent election in MA gives me some measure of hope, I'm still skeptical of the voting process for a timely solution. The socialist 'Rats control the election apparatus in many places, and when that is the case the hope for honest elections fades. And as we've seen with Odumbo, it doesn't take too long for the 'Rats to inflict serious, perhaps fatal damage. I mean, $105 billion in interest payments alone on one month (Dec. 2009)?! Obama is crashing the system to grease the skids for a socialist revolution (a modified Cloward-Piven approach, destroy wealth and capital first).
BTTT
I’d go for a balanced budget amendment, but only if it was also tied to firm and low limits on the governments ability to tax. Otherwise a balanced budget amendment is just a big stick to be used to raise taxes.
“Obama is crashing the system to grease the skids for a socialist revolution (a modified Cloward-Piven approach, destroy wealth and capital first).”
I am one of those “radical” individuals who agree whole heartedly with your comments. There can be no other excuse for the things he is doing. He doesn’t seem to care who he
alienates, The Supreme court, financial institutions, Vegas,
Executive salaries, the police and on and on. There is a glimmer of hope however. It seems even his own party is beginning to question his actions and motives. Let’s hope it’s not too late. The worm is turning ever so slowly.
What a DOOFUS he is......Mayor Goodman is right....he's a SLOW LEARNER!
Exactly! Use the amendment to balance then bring down taxes to some fixed amount. Stop unfunded mandates too!
It is hoped the the people scold Mr. Obama at the polls.
IMHO
My 2000 Acura 3.2TL back in September:
It's coming up on 123,456 miles in the next couple of weeks.
The once thriving and vibrant US marine industry (the source of many jobs in sections of this country) is on the ropes now and dosen't need Obama telling people to avoid buying boats. Why pick on the marine industry? If you can barely pay your mortgage you probably should be foregoing lots of expenditures.
“Not to mention the insanity of holding an expensive party about every other day for the past year, totaling $300-plus million-for the taxpayers!!!”
Good point. I also believe he’s set a record on the number of Air Force One flights.
Good For You. My last three cars were 325K, 225K, and the current is 184K. All American made. Please buy American next time. For decades I have been puzzled by people like yourself, who buy foreign. So..... maybe think of it as loyalty and symbolism.
I bought a Mercury Sable at 77,128 miles and drove it for another 70,000 about 20 years ago, along with a couple of Tauruses and Escorts, and aside from the TL’s transmission defect that was covered in a recall, the Acura has been a night-and-day difference in maintenance needs.
I can go months without opening the Acura’s hood, while with the Fords I learned the craft of automotive repair at my father’s side while growing up, as we replaced head and oil pan gaskets, suspension components, alternators, and so on. We got on a friendly basis with the guys at the local Murray’s Discount Auto Parts shop.
The main reason I’m tempted to buy American again is so I can teach my son how to wrench on cars like my father taught me.
I gather that Ford has improved substantially in that regard, though, so maybe I’ll test-drive a Fusion if I ever wreck the Acura, as opposed to giving it to my son when he turns sixteen ten years from last Friday.
No doubt the finest of food and drink will be served......and the resident Pastry Chef will have baked a huge cake constructed and decorated as a football field.
Of course, the brown-nose media will dutifully report the repast as being Miller Lite, low-cal nachos and chili made from Publix ground buffalo meat.....served in re-cycled paper cups and plates.
