Very interesting. Typical understated dialog of older midwestern? folks.
Also at the end notice the covered tied up bush in front? Sure sign of cold weather, a cold night. Here in FL in cold weather everyone goes out and covers their tropical bushes at night.
You always know it’s going to be a cold night when you drive home in the evening and the yards look like everyone threw their sheets out.

“shot by optometrist Jack Moss”
Shortly after filming this video, Jack fell into a lens grinding machine in his office and made a spectacle of himself.

Of of the captions below video :......One of my first memories of watching a Presidential speech is when Reagan said, They slipped the surly bonds of earth, and touched the face of God.

This was such a sad event, I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard. Later, we actually heard the Columbia break up, as we lived in East TX in the debris path. Both very tragic events. Thanks for sharing this.

That was a horrible day. I still remember Reagan's speech afterwards. Even on a horrible day for America, Reagan was able to make you proud to be an American-he spoke of challenge, exploration, dedication, and freedom. What a diffference from the current occupant of the White House, who can only apologize for this nation.

Watching that video brings back terrible memories of that day.
It was especially sad to see Judy Resnik's parents sitting in the bleachers with puzzled looks on their faces. And then there were the "live broad casts" in school class rooms where our Nation's children saw it first hand.
Just awful.
