ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports: Dont mess with Mary Landrieu.
The Democratic Senator from Louisiana has had about enough of people criticizing the clause she helped put into the Senate version of health care reform and she took to the Senate floor today, giving a fiery defense of special funding for Louisiana that Republicans have derisively nicknamed the Louisiana Purchase implying the language was put in to buy Landrieus vote.
Today on the Senate floor, Landrieu her naysayers to keep their mouth shut.
She pointed out that Republicans in Louisiana, including Governor Bobby Jindal and a good number of Republican Congressmen, have all asked publicly for Louisiana to be given the extra money to meet its Medicaid commitments.

Needs a graphic of Miss Piggy!
O cool, maybe the repubs ought to ask her how she got to the Senate in the first place. Acorn voters from 1 parrish carried her. Out of 54 parrishes in LA, she won exactly 1. Guess which? Orleans Parrish. Big time acorn organization. The local tv news slug interviewed a “voter” who was complaining. He was promised $50 for every time he voted for Landrieu. He had voted 10 times for her that day and got paid only $50. He was pissed. Where’s my payday.
Isn’t mary a junior senator? Looks like she put on the prerequisite freshman 30. She goes to a resturant, picks up the menu and says “yes”.
Go answer a phone bitch...
The demoRATs from 0bozo on down are literally becoming unhinged & violent. It is time to mix it up with filthy bullies & bastards and take back our country.
Hey, Mary: If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Landrieu = whore
The kudzu of the Senate.
I hear they are finding out uses for kudzu now - but haven’t found one for Landrieu yet :)
Mary Landrieu - we know what she is. Now we know her price.
By any chance did you take a picture of it you could post?
I would love to see a sample to emulate.
ding ding ding ding ding
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winnah!
The forecast for tyrants and traitors: showers of hot brass, occasionally heavy at times accompanied by widely scattered explosions.
Of course Republicans in Louisiana State Government have publicly asked for extra money to meet the Federal Mandated Medicaid commitments.
The United States Federal Government is behaving irresponsibility and unconstitutional with theses mandates, placing our State Governments into very serous financial peril, case we cant afford to pay the bills anymore then The Federal government can afford to pay the bills for their welfare vote buying.
This is a card game, and while both Landrieu of Louisiana, and Nelson of Nebraska did their job in trying to protect their States, they did it the wrong way. They as well as the Senate as a whole have betrayed the American people and their States in this unconstitutional bill.
Unconstitutional not only because of its select funning for the benefit of only a select few States.(A violation of the Original meaning of the General welfare and common defense clause), but the glaring fact that Health-care IS NOT one of the enumerated powers of the United States Federal Government in the United States constitution it is therefore clearly and unambiguously unconstitutional for them to pass any law, levy any tax or expend any of the publics money in dept in pursuant to Health-care.
Of course when the corrupt politicians in Washington D.C. start observing the limits of their own authority again, about 70% of their expenditures (the Federal Budget) will go out the window, leaving basically just the military and military related fields.
This is probably the super weapon to wipe out our deficit problems in 1 fell-swoop.
THANKS for the number!!! Although I have FAXed her ofc. a few times, I've never called. The gal who just took my call had the GALL to claim that Landrieu took the floor today only to demonstrate it WAS NOT A BACK-ROOM DEAL, not to criticize the GOP!!!
I don't know how I kept my composure at that outrageous assertion, but when I countered, the staff said it wasn't a backroom deal because ANY OTHER MEMBER OF THE SENATE COULD HAVE ASKED for similar clauses in the legislation.
I do believe the staff member was shocked by the vehemence of my calling Landreiu the slimy &*O(*^Y she is and that her party majority was doomed this November and Landreiu was doomed in 2012!
Regards . . . Penny
She took “feeding at the public trough” literally.
Today on the Senate floor, Landrieu her naysayers to keep their mouth shut.
Maybe it is just me, but there seeems to be something missing from this line of the article.
