President Barack Obama is clarifying comments he made Tuesday afternoon after being heavily criticized by state lawmakers.
During a speech in Las Vegas the president said people who are trying to save money shouldn't be going to places like Las Vegas.
After several lawmakers issued scathing statement about the president's remarks, President Obama sent a brief note to Nevada Senator Harry Reid.
The note was then forwarded to local media outlets:
Dear Harry:
I hope you know that during my Town Hall today, I wasn't saying anything negative about Las Vegas. I was making the simple point that families use vacation dollars, not college tuition money, to have fun. There is no place better to have fun than Vegas, one of our country's great destinations. I have always enjoyed my visits, look forward to visiting in a few weeks, and hope folks will visit in record numbers this year.
Sincerely,
Barack Obama

Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman had the best response whan asked how he would respond to a visit by obama,
“I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot,” Goodman said. “This president is a real slow learner.”
Why should we save for college at all? Didn’t he tell us in his State of the Union that if we borrowed for college we would only have to pay 10 years of payments equal to 10 percent of our annual income if we went to work for the government?
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I agree.
I don’t disagree with the fact that broke people shouldn’t piss money away in vegas or buy boats.
But, we are free to do with our money, or lack thereof.
He will never get it! We would all rather take our chances in Vegas than send our hard-earned money to him. At least we would have a chance of seeing some of it again.
So what about those of us who aren’t “broke”, but would rather do what we wish with money WE have earned, rather than have it confiscated by the government?
Perhaps Obozo should lead by example then?
What are vacation dollars?
