Stay home or vote 3rd party if this turd wins the primary Tuesday.
To: 9YearLurker
Is he dreadfully underfunded? How far behind is he in the polls? The problem is that IL's primary is in February. If Hughes loses, it'll be because of the strict time constraint.
To: Williams
I hate everything about this guys ANWR position but we need republicans in that senate. Kirk is liberal on ALL positions.
Better to let the Dem win the seat.
To: Lurker
He also was a big sponsor of So Called “Hate Crimes” bill, supported the Bailouts twice, Prescription drug entitlement, and has been in Congress the last 10 years during the explosion of Federal Spending.
To: Maelstorm
Illinois, Vote for Patrick Hughes! Surprise them!

[ The Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is a prized jewel of our national ecosystem. ]
This is not true.. worse its bull squeeze..
ANWR is empty permafrost with very little life of any kind..
Mostly snow and ice 9 mos of the year.. a wasteland except for the oil, gas, and coal..

Great. Like we really need a Lindsey Graham Jr. <<
Mark Kirk is so liberal he'd have to be 10X more conservative to turn into a Lindsey Graham clone. I can't imagine Graham ever voting for partial birth abortion so NARAL will endorse him over a Democrat.

Um yeah. I’m no fan of Lindsey, I hope they boot him in the next primary (2014).
But to seriously compare him with the liberal Kirk is to have no sense of proportion. I see Graham as a McCain wannabee. A younger, more conservative southern version. He’s far from the worst Senate Republican.
Kirk on the other hand is along with Mike Castle one of the most liberal Republicans left in the house. He’s Illinois’ answer to Arlen Specter. He’s a male version of Olympia Snowe. He can’t be counted on for much of anything.

This is utter stupidity. The Euro-trash liberals in SoHo cause more environmental degradation on one weekend than drilling in ANWR would cause in a year, or more. Stupid liberal trash.
ROFL. What the Europeans don't advertise: Even the solar, wind yadda, yadda, yadda leader Germany is drilling in its national parks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mittelplate
Their solution - in typically European fashion: A compromise, i.e. stricter environmental standards according to national park law.

The Europeans are an interesting lot, although not necessarily a model example to be followed. For all their high-minded talk, the Europeans are rather down-to-earth when it comes to things like tax evasion and paying bribes to foreign government officials or companies for commercial purposes. I believe, although the law may finally have been changed, that for a long time, business bribes were deductible for German tax purposes.

It is no more on a magma field than all oil fields, if you go deep enough.
Once you get below the top active layer of freeze/frost cycles, on average temperatures rise 3 degrees about every 100 ft of depth.

Yeah, the "Zuwendungen im Geschaeftsverkehr"-paragraph (business-related favors), that one has been changed. Although I believe that if you pay bribes e.g. for your production line in China, that is still tax-deductible. The thing is: In America, one side always has to win, the other side has to be crushed. In Europe you try to find a compromise that helps both sides save face. Germany is always a nice example for that: In the US you have abortion on demand - no questions asked. In Germany abortion itself is illegal, but is not punishable under certain circumstances (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_Germany). Or evolution vs. creation. German schools teach both: Evolution in science class and creation in religious education.
