And the fact that you and your ilk “rejoice” in Tiller’s death tells more about you than you’re willing to admit, and it’s not a pretty picture. Tiller was a vile human being, but make no mistake—he was performing a LEGAL procedure, and the fact that you celebrate someone who went outside the law and murdered him in a house of God tells me your motives are not God’s motives. Deal with that little tidbit. You have done the pro-life movement no favors.
Legal doesn’t equal moral. It was “legal” in this country to keep human beings in bondage, too.
What isn't pretty is that anyone would not celebrate the death of a monster -- no matter how it occurred -- that killed tens of thousands of fully-formed, perfectly health infants for reasons not related to the health of the mother.
And, no, that isn't an endorsement of Roeder's actions.
His death should be just as much a reason to rejoice as the death Osama Bin Laden or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Only those with no respect for human life would not feel that way.
[he was performing a LEGAL procedure]
No, he wasn’t. The abortions he was performing were on perfectly healthy, viable infants and they WERE NOT LEGAL in the state of Kansas. However, he had used his blood money to buy himself protection and political clout. He owned our Governor, Kathleen Sebelius and took out the state attorney general, Phil Kline, who dared to enforce the law.

“he was performing a LEGAL procedure”
So was Mengelez. And Hitler.
If the people of that Church shared Dr Tiller`s values (we know they did) then the Spirit of Christ was not in that Church.
My personal opinion on this is that many people are very dishonest when it comes to this subject. They know that if they say as I am saying they will be savagely ripped to pieces, so they hold back.
When Herod died, Joseph and Mary and all with them, gave thanks to God and returned to their home.
Somewhere sometime, we will hear the testimony of someone that was to be aborted by Dr Tiller the following week, perhaps on a Christian television show etc. The death of Dr Tiller was a serious blow to the pro abortion movement.
You can be sure he will not be greeted as Dr when he reaches his final destination.
What if it had been a guy shooting children in a hospital nursery or a daycare? The place would have been surrounded, probably police snipers would take the guy out.
What do you suppose Jesus would have said or done had he came across an abortion clinic? We all know the answer, he would have done something!
I am not going to condemn this poor man, he forfeited his life, and like him or not, crazy or not, he saved lives.
Absolutely true.
Big, big difference between stopping a murderer in the act and yourself murdering someone who has performed legally authorized activities (whether you agree with the legality or not), and who wasn’t doing anything at the time he was shot.
Murder is not civil disobedience. Murder is not a morally acceptable response because, as others have noted on this topic, it can become quite the slippery slope deciding whose performance of legally authorized acts might yield an innocent death. Extremists on the other side could just as easily argue that the assassination of George W. Bush would have been appropriate using the same vile “logic.”
I didn’t think that late term abortions were legal. For me, how a “doctor” could take a full term baby apart, and not be charged with murder is unbelievable. That truly is murder in the first degree.
I, for one, am so glad he can’t kill any more babies.
Good he’s gone.
“Tiller was a vile human being, but make no mistakehe was performing a LEGAL procedure,...”
So were the Nazi concentration camp guards and officers...but, it was recognized by the world that Natural Law transcends national law and that the Right to Life is universal. Hence, the Nazi’s violated a higher law and were able to be prosecuted for committing what was otherwise a legal act (in their country). Our nation’s shame is not in recognizing the violation of law being done everyday in the bowels of abortion clinics killing millions of babies every year.
First of all, just because the law says something is ok doesn’t mean in morally is. Remember, this country is based on Judeo-Christian principles. When slavery was legal, it was still morally wrong. Abortion is legal, but morally wrong. Vigilantism is illegal, but arguably moral.
