Some Democrats have speculated about Senator Dianne Feinstein entering this years race for governor in California, but former Governor Jerry Brown actually runs just a bit better against both of the major remaining Republican challengers in the race.

I mistakenly duplicated “California Governor” in the headline, would you please delete one of them? Thank you.
I worked in one of Gov. Moonbeam's "environmentally concious" buildings once. In the summer, you broiled and in the winter it was so cold you had to wear a heavy jacket, a hat, and gloves.
He did a stint as gov - that was more than enough. And IMHO he's been a lousy atty gen.
Earth to Moonbean: Retire, already!
I should hope so.
This is very winnable. Jerry Brown has more baggage than a Samosonite Outlet Store.
Wasn’t he the Mayor of Oakland before being elected AG?
There must be a lot of young people and immigrants living in California. Anyone who remembers Jerry Brown (aka Governor Medfly) would have to be out of their minds to support him.
It’s hard to believe Brown is going to be 72 this year, and even more interesting is the shameless attempt by the MSM to promote 78 year old Dianne Feinstein for governor. Why is it that Dole and McCain were “old” and “out of touch” while Feinstein is referred to as “experienced?”
Did you know that his nephew holds the patent on the cadaledic (sp) converter?
I can’t believe that California Dems couldn’t do better than recycling an old former governor (72) or possibly an even older (78) current US Senator?
Californians deserve their disaster.
Brown and Feinstein: A couple of worn-out retreads for a broken-down state, they’re the perfect illustration of why California is in the grave it’s dug for itself. Either one will hit the ground running straight to a massive tax increase, since their party already has a stranglehold on both Houses of the legislature.
There will be an October surprise for Brown, if he decides to run. It will be more embarrassing than Reverend Wright is to Zerobama. The libs will run away from Brown when they find out about it.
No need to disclose more until then.
Jerry Brown represents “the future”? Californians are big on voting for the future, new ideas, etc. I kind of like Meg Whitman . . plus she has plenty of $$$.
Jerry Brown will really inspire strong opposition from conservatives.
And Boxer’s going to be 70. California, the Geriatric Communist State.
I didn’t realize Boxer was that old. I’ll support Devore or Carly against her, I’d prefer the conservative but I’ll accept the RINO just to see that disgraceful, outrageously arrogant California Senator lose.
I hope Sam Aanestad is elected LT Governor and that Brown kicks.
Say DJ why did Brown win by a such a wide margin (20 points) in 1978? I’ve read he carried Orange county but I would guess it was by plurality since libertarian Ed Clark was in the race (though he was a lefty-libertarian).
On problem, Brown won't be running for Senate from California. You gotta go with what you've got. Which in California isn't much.
Turned out Attorney General Evelle Younger was an awful candidate, uninspiring and described by Barone in the 1980 Almanac as the equivalent of a “mashed potato sandwich.” Brown miraculously managed to make enough of the electorate forget his nuttiness and to market himself as being more fiscally Conservative. Of course, by 1982, the public had had enough of Jerry Brown with his Senate loss (in a year he should’ve been able to win).
Interesting how Ah-nold hasn’t managed to push through Abel Maldonado’s nomination for the Lt Governor vacancy. Even if Aanestad wins along with Brown, I’d be surprised if Brown kicked off. His dad lived to be almost 91. That means Jerry has perhaps 2 more decades to go.
Speaking of which because of that Brown became acting Governor when Arnie went to DC. I don’t know if he’s back yet.
Wow, that means that’ll be the most fiscally Conservative Governor in office since Davis was recalled.
