Hey I love to debate, who cares what my posting history. I am a registered Republican, I vote and I vote for who I want to.

You just outed yourself.

Fly--I believe the word you are looking for is "status confirmed."

Where's the Meow Mix?

Cheers!

Let me take a guess. This guy works at a company that recruits people to work at minimum wage jobs for major corporations. I would wager that his wedge issue is....hispanics who might not be legal in AZ.
JD wants them out. mxain wants them in, and I would bet that whatever company this guy works for makes a mint off them.

Yeah, just keep dividing the party.

Long time republican, evidently not YOUR kind of republican.

Too bad, there are a lot of us in the party.

200 Motels,

I was most impressed with Hayworth in 2003-04. Remember when the fuel pipeline broke between Tucson and Phoenix? Poor old Napolitano had not a clue what to do. Gas shortages in Phoenix and costs 3-4 dollars above the national average.

Hayworth had a plan and he shared it with Napolitano. Get the gasoline on train tankers pronto! Get gasoline to the Phoenix area. Get semi-tankers to transfer the fuel from the trains to the retailers. Get the pipeline crews working pronto. Contract bonuses to companies that could deliver the soonest and pay them for it.

Napolitano took his advice and problem was solved in two weeks or sooner.

Hayworth knows how to fix stuff.

The former Gov had no clue how to fix the problem. McCain offered no advice.

Hayworth built a plan and challenged Napolitano to implement it. It worked.

I was confounded by the Governors answers to the questions by reporters.

She had the standard, “we are looking into it” & “This takes time, money, and infrastucture”

But she never said a damn thing about a solution. The same day, Hayworth gets on the radio via KFYI and says he has faxed her a detailed plan. He then describes how to fund it, implement it and accomplish it.

He never took credit for it.

But the folks of phoenix appreciated it. I did. I was stationed there at the time.

I reposted this. I like Flake and Hayworth. McCain, not so much.

Your opinion?

Huh?

Are posters allowed to have opinions here?

Sorry I don’t meet your litmus test. Too bad, I vote for who I want, not for who you want. Nor would I expect you to not vote for who you want.

Have a nice night

Compare what she said in the Univision interview:

Unvision Interview: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Larson interview: No, I’m not for amnesty. Let’s ratchet this down quite simply to remember what we’re referring to. Illegal aliens are called “illegal” for a reason. We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.

What? Are you suggesting that Sarah is for amnesty because she didn't name the rules?

Unless you follow the immigration/amnesty issue closely, you don't understand the code words. The rules are those governing an earned path to citizenship. McCain supported tossing out en mass the 2 million criminal illegal aliens. And if they follow the "rules," it means they can stay.

Are you saying that being humane and being against amnesty are mutually exclusive?

Again, being "humane" is what the pro-amnesty side uses to justify amnesty. They like to create images of mass round-ups of illegal aliens tossed on to boxcars similar to the Holocaust. They use emotion to explain why we should not deport illegals who have put down roots or that would separate them from their children. I attended the press conference where the House Dems trotted out their latest amnesty bill. The word humane was used often. And so were the 20 or so children who came out with white teeshirts emblazoned with "Future Voter" in red letters.

Again, Sarah said that she is against amnesty.

McCain is against amnesty. Obama is against amnesty. Schumer is against amnesty. It depends on the meaning of the word, which has been changed by the pro-amnesty crowd because they know the majority of Americans are against amnesty. So they claim that paying a fine, learning English, and getting to the back of line is not amnesty. The reality is that it is, just like it was in 1986 when people had to essentially do the same thing. Only Reagan called it correctly as an amnesty.

Definition: Amnesty, from the same Greek root as "amnesia," forgives past crimes and removes them from the record for future purposes. In the context of immigration, amnesty is commonly defined as granting legal status to a group of individuals unlawfully present in a country. It overlooks the alien's illegal entry and ongoing illegal presence and creates a new legal status that allows the recipient to live and work in the country.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986: The textbook example of an amnesty. The 1986 law's path to citizenship was not automatic. The legislation stipulated several requirements to receive amnesty, including payment of application fees, acquisition of English-language skills, understanding of American civics, a medical exam, and registration for military service. Individuals convicted of a felony or three misdemeanors were ineligible. No one disputes that this act provided amnesty. Supporters said it would be a “one-time” amnesty. It was estimated that one million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million.
