Holy smokes! JD is telling us this is his last hour on the air!
He is saying he will be heard from again in the public arena.
O/T, but I heard Bachman on Beck this morning and she just keeps getting more impressive as time goes on and she gains more and more experience in the trenches.

I agree totally, Onyx. She is not campaigning against JD. I liked him. I remember when he subbed for Laura Ingraham occasionally. He sounds like a good ole boy.
I hope there is nothing in his closet that we don’t know about that will come along and sabotage him.
McCain should go... it would be the honorable thing to do and he could go out trailing the clouds of glory he earned for his early service to the country.
But those old senators just won’t do it. He could have a happy and respected retirement but they are just too vain and comfortable to leave.
The country is in the mood for change and they may well vote him out in the primary. I hope they do. It would be a sad end for him but one he chose for himself.
Do we actually have an announcement from JD on his plans or all of this just still speculation?
Also, did J.D. lose by a tiny margin? Like way within the margin of voter fraud?
He’s an extremely effective and vocal conservative who is not PC and is even somewhat of a loudmouth (in a good way). It wasn’t any surprise that, like Bachman, he caught the particular attention of the Rats.

I’m willing to give Sarah a pass on this one, if McCain hadn’t picked her for VP she would be just a small state Governor who activists would know but not many others.
JD will be a national candidate. He will be able to raise millions ala Joe Wilson. Funding won’t be a problem.
I will point out to you again that I disagree that the 1986 amnesty "could have worked".
There was never enough money in the bill in the first place for enforcement. And it only encouraged additional waves of illegal immigration.

In some cases, he almost seems to be going around and recruiting candidates, as if he's selecting his own slate. People have mentioned that for races in Nevada and Colorado, and other states.
You seem pretty familiar with JD. What are his main causes besides no amnesty, do you know?
I think the amnesty thing, though still a big issue, is not the huge issue it was before Obama. I think the economy, jobs, stopping the stimulus, spending, catering to our enemies, supporting global warming crap and, of course, health care, have supplanted amnesty as a big issue for now.
Sarah is still pro-amnesty on the record. I want to hear her answer those same questions now. She continues to dance around the subject based on the few radio transcripts I have read subsequent to the Univision interview. Those are her words.
I also think McCain was a jerk for cynically putting Palin on the spot by even asking her to campaign for him. He boxed her in where whether she said "yes" or "no," he could benefit.
If she said "yes," he got a popular conservative to help out.
If she said "no," he contributed to and allowed her to be painted as a political idiot who was selfish, ungrateful, uninitiated in the decorum of politics, full-of-herself and on and on.
And, either way, he knew his audaciously asking for her help would likely harm her popularity one way or the other (see above).
Finally, he no doubt also anticipated that if he could play the loyalty card, again without regard to HER political health, only his, then he would also be able to use that to keep her from backing anyone who popped up in the primary against him.
We shall see. Somehow, I think this will work itself out and Palin and Hayworth will come out winners.
I agree. When she agreed to, he was unopposed, so she was kind of obligated. If J.D. does oppose him in the primary, that may change things.
But was there a primary race when McCain asked for her help or was he running unopposed at that time?
I think the old coot rushed to get her on board while he had no primary opponents. For just this reason.

You're half-right. I would have "abandoned" him on the ISSUE where he strayed from conservative principle. And I would have let him know about it too!
Why do I say that? Re: Sarah Palin. I've participated on several threads regarding her McCain endorsement. That's putting it mildly. There's no doubt in my mind that Sarah Palin reads Free Republic. As a "principle" purist, I'm doing what I think is best to advance the conservative agenda. And what is that? Let Sarah Palin know -- through this forum -- that her endorsement of McCain is a BETRAYAL OF CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLE!
Now is she a loyal person to do something this perfidious? Sure. She's loyal to John McCain. A cult-of-personality purist wouldn't fault Sarah for this.
A philosophical purist would.
Can the twain be met? I think it can. But are you willing to recognize Palin's problematic endorsement of McCain, and take her to task for it. Sarah needs to hear from people like you. What will you say to her?

YES, altura! We very much liked (and LIKE) JD HAYWORTH. He was a frequent guest on all the FNC shows because he was one of best advocates for the conservative viewpoint against the “fair and balanced” viewpoint of the libtard pitted against him.
I am thankful that you agree with me that Sarah is not going to campaign against JD. The fact is that she agreed to go sometime last week and her appearances are to take place sometime in March, well ahead of the AZ primary in August.
I hope NcCain will be resounbdly defeated. I really thought he would retire after this term, but nooooooooo.
