Im Scott Brown, Im from Wrentham, I drive a truck, and have I got a girl for you.
In a cringe-worthy, Ohmigod, DAD! moment, U.S. Sen.-elect Brown channeled Chuck Woolery during Tuesday nights acceptance speech.
I want to thank Ayla and Arianna for their help as well, Brown said. And just in case anyone whos watching throughout the country, yes, theyre both available!

Actually I learned about her through FR. I am at the gym when AI is on.

This is how fathers teach daughters to deal with men. Watched my father-in-law do it with his 3 daughters. They loved it. Sometimes I could see them be disappointed because he hadn’t teased in a while. Its a great thing. Women get frustrated with us. Women who had a dad who made a game of it, who provoked frustration make it easier for husbands who, not trying to provoke, do something annoying. They shrug it off with a laugh rather than get angry
He said this TWICE? I only saw the beginning of yesterday's (1/20/10) show. I didn't hear his radio show today... do you know if he said anything regarding those nasty comments?
I'm very disappointed in Glenn for those comments. Geesh, we have most of his books, watch his show most days, went to a simulcast of his "Christmas Sweater" performance, etc. Just disappointing... he's going to lose some of his credibility because of those remarks, IMO. :-(
Glenn hasnt been the same since his interview with Sarah, and he wasnt too nice about her afterwards either.
I think you're onto something here, homegroan. Maybe you're right... It's the DayQuil or something. (?)
I wonder if Glenn's e-mail inbox is chock full of complaints about his comments re: Brown, which he apparently said TWICE, not just on yesterday's show. :-(
I did that one time. A high school boy came to the house to pick up my daughter for a date. I didn’t like him. I pulled out a hand gun and started cleaning it and just talked to him. He had her home by 11:00PM and never dated her again.
I bet he has a LOT of mail on it!
And his whole show put me off so much yesterday, I couldn’t listen to him this morning.
I guess Glenn and I are having our first spat!
Glenn-switch to Mucinex-D-it doesn’t make you loopy.
Wonder how many times they embarrassed Dad? Pay backs are hell,Lol
Yeah, I turned off Beck’s radio show yesterday. I think that he is purposely trying to put a lid on Conservative exuberance over the Brown win, to keep the viewers of his tv show interested in his anti-progressive agenda. I understand his reasoning, but I still don’t like it.
IMO, Glenn Beck just wants to be the center of attention. I saw his program on Fox the day after Brown won and he didn't cover it much, or celebrate it, and was repeating his same stuff which seemed bland in comparison considering. He steps all over his guests talking over them, even friendly ones. His John Stossel interview was bizarre.
He almost seems a little...jealous? Maybe he feels left out of the Tea Party events?
He treated his OWN interview w/Palin badly and was critical of her afterwards; why not say it to her face?
Hey Dr Jekyll-we want Mr Hyde back!
I thought Brown’s remarks were inappropriate and somewhat odd, but I agree that Beck’s reaction was a little over the top. Rush said “cute”, huh? Well, I can’t agree with that.
I don’t listen to his radio show so don’t know if he mentioned it today. My disillusionment with Glenn happened a long time back so his Brown comments just made me mad- but wasn’t a disappointment in that sense.
” actually thought it was pretty harmless. Theyre cute girls, and this was a basic Dad joke. I dont know why people are flipping out over it.”
Yeah, but there are better words he could have chosen instead of “available”. That sounds like she’s a rent-a-date.
“Unmarried” would have been less offensive, or, at the most, “eligible”.
Well put. Worth repeating.
But that would have been a serious offer and not funny. I think it was silly and anybody in their right mind would have known he wasn’t putting his daughters up on e-bay!
Most of the ones who are flipping over it never had a dad so they wouldn't recognize the endearing humor of that statement.
Very good... :-)
I was sure he would apologize. But he hasn’t, has he?
I’d bet my bottom dollar Lauren Beckham Falcone of the Boston Herald is younger than 40. All those who seem to be getting uptight about Senator Brown’s comment are of the generation raised in the era of a new, ‘hip,’ lexicon.
Older folks think a daughter’s availability has to do with availability for courtship; the younger generation seems to think it means availability for the meat market. Shame how our language has been so perverted. And our young so humorless.
