Obama: No healthcare action until Brown is seated By Michael O'Brien - 01/20/10 02:22 PM ET

President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the Senate should halt any action on healthcare legislation until Senator-elect Scott Brown (R-Mass.) can be seated.

Obama told ABC News's George Stephanopoulos in an interview to air tonight that he doesn't want to move on health legislation, his top domestic priority, until Brown joins the Senate, which would give the GOP enough votes to sustain a filibuster.

"Here's one thing I know and I just want to make sure that this is off the table: The Senate certainly shouldn't try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated," the president said. "The people of Massachusetts spoke. He's got to be part of that process."

Ideology aside he's the worst because he had a ton of political capital and mismanaged it, particularly in his dealings with congress.

You can't take ideology out of the equation of Obama's failure. In fact, ideology is the primary reason he failed. He's a doctrinaire Marxist, who, along with his fellow travelers in Congress, attempted nothing less than the complete and utter destruction of our constitutional republic.

They alarmed the American public so badly with their headlong rush toward a Socialist "utopia", that they caused the birth of the Tea Party movement, which is rapidly bringing about their demise. Like Pandora's Box, the Tea Party movement cannot be stopped, now that it's been unleashed.

Eventually, history will record that Obama was directly responsible for shocking the American people back to their senses, which resulted in the wholesale quashing of the entire left-liberal establishment in this country.

Who is Obama kidding. He floated that trial balloon about holding up Brown’s seating and jamming the package through. The people just spit in his face and he knows it.

This guy would love to initiate totalitarian government. He can’t and now he sees that. He is stymied by the Democrats and Independents who voted his sorry butt into the Oval Office.

There is only one constraint to what Obama and the Democratic Party leadership will do to take total control over the citizens of this country. That constraint is the kick in the teeth they just got in Massachusetts.

Charity asks me to hope that he is beginning to see some light.

You're being very charitable.

The only light Obama has seen, is that headlight approaching from the other end of the tunnel.

Like any thug, he had to have a gun held to his head to stand down.

I smell “TINKERING” and this monstrosity needs to be killed.
Scott is 41, but only if the others hold true and do not fall for “tinkering.” It’s too late and over 2,700 pages too long for rescuing by any means.

I agree. But the government has no right forcing American citizens to buy any product, including health care insurance.

I know that you said “not Obamacare.”, but I just want to highlight how monstrous that idea of fining/taxing younger people heavily if they don’t buy insurance really is.

“The Senate certainly shouldn’t try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated,”

I may be nit-picking, but to me the operative word here is SHOULDN’T . . . Shouldn’t is altogether different than wouldn’t.

This weasel stood behind the scenes directing all off this, letting the Dems fall on their own sword.

Now, he gets to play the “good guy.” Would some decent Democrat expose this pantywaist jerk for what he is? Are you going to go down because of this clown?

I know how you feel, Scott—fighting to keep it all in while you speak in public and to the press—but don’t you have a truck to go pack?

Maybe Bill Clinton II — Clinton was far more malleable than Obama has been(Clinton had more experience being a moderate or liberal, as the situation permitted).

I didn’t think it was possible for Obama to triangulate, or even sense that he had the inclination to triangulate, but he may surprise me.

From what he said to ABC today, it's the first time he'd admitted there may be reasonable opposition to his takeover of the health care industry. Psychotics and even narcissists have brief moments of clarity...

I admit to thoughts of Wile E Coyote and the inevitable light at the end of his tunnel, just chose not to voice them for the moment.
