Granted the socialist agenda is Obama’s alpha and omega. But he's also not very smart. He doesn't get it, at least not yet. Obama’s political obtuseness is hurting his agenda, perhaps beyond the possibility of repair. The only way to bring socialism to America is by slow degrees. The left has to boil the frog. Obama still hasn't grasped this simple point.

An old friend of mine that I recently found on facebook (he’s now a big time liberal), was admonishing his friends to go out and vote agains Brown in order to save Healthcare Reform and extoling the virtures of -ack- Keith Olbermann. I jokingly wrote “Go Scott Brown”, to which he replied, “...I know it would be easier if I could live my life without compassion and understanding for my fellow man. If I could do that I would be a republican too.”
I *politely* replied, “I dunno, political party notwithstanding, I’m a pretty compassionate person...I freely donate 10% of my income to my church, part of which supports humanitarian efforts like those in Katrina and Haiti. I also fast for 24 hours once a month and donate the money our family would have spent to those less fortunate - every month. I also have served, with my time unpaid, as a foster parent to over 26 children in the last 10 years. I have also served, unpaid, as the president of a board that oversees the welfare of foster families totalling over 800 children. I could go on, but it would be unseemly. What I have a problem with is arrogant politicians from ANY party thwarting the constitution in order to ram a healthcare policy that the vast majority of the country DO NOT want down our throats. Especially when that bill, if read AND understood, does NOT cover a large part of the people it purports to cover. Which means it’s less a healthcare bill and more a big government takeover of the entire medical industry. BTW, as a foster parent, I work with indigent people on a daily basis - trust me, if they want it, they have healthcare. It’s called Medicare. I wonder why the democrats are so eager to push through a bill that they are not required to participate in? If this bill is really so great, wouldn’t they be jumping at the chance to participate? I’m not opposed to some sort of reform (particulary tort reform, which was never part of the bill, which raised my suspicions). This bill doesn’t do that. It’s a power grab, plain and simple. You can put flowers and perfume on a piece of turd, but it’s still a piece of turd. This bill is a travesty. That’s why the majority of the American people oppose it - they’re awake now. BTW, Keith Olberman is a tool. He’s a psudo-newsman. Maybe I would listen to something he had to say if his nose wasn’t stuck so far O’bummer’s and his administration’s butt. He’s not a journalist, he’s an opinion man. I don’t share his opinions, so I don’t bother with his drivel. Now, I mean all this is the nicest way, I’m not mad, just passionate. :-)”

Excellent response! I don’t think its too passionate - its just right. However, your big-time liberal friend may ignore your accurate points as being typical, conservative hoopla. They have a tendency to skim the facts and focus on their own agenda. I know that is what my liberal ‘friends’ do. But I’m with you 100%.

This is a stupid press release. Even though dated today, the quotes precede Scott Brown’s election.
Since the Scott Brown election, several prominent House Democrats, including Barney Frank (D-MA) and Antony Weiner (D-NY) have gone on the record saying that the ObamaCare bill is dead and they won’t vote for it. Additionally, numerous House members have privately told several national media correspondents that they won’t vote for it either.
Senator Webb (D-WV) has stated the Senate will not vote on any health care bills until Brown is seated.
It’s dead, people. Dead. No matter what kind of spin you hear about this in the media, it’s dead.
And actually, so is Obama’s Presidency and the rest of his agenda. It’s now clear to even the dimmest Dim that Obama is a total loser and is poison at election time. They’re all busily distancing themselves from Obama as fast as they can, even as I write these words. Obama won’t have the votes to pass a National Dogcatcher’s Day proclamation.
Your response was good. Realize also that this health care bill, and the Obama regime in its entirety, pits neighbor against neighbor and friend against friend. Obama's supporters believe (innocently perhaps) that government is compassionate when it takes from one set of neighbors and gives to another set of neighbors. They fail to see (in either ignorant naivete' or outright malice) the tyranny behind this seduction and its predictable negative outcome.
