Botox is a neurotoxin; it migrates within tissue. The brain is nearby. Pelosi has had some.

Nobamacare, as we know it (???), is doomed. Tax and Trade, as the dems want it is doomed, no matter what Peelousi, dingy harry or the kenyan want or how hard they Double Down.

For the sake of keeping the Tea Party fires going right through Nov. elections. EVERYONE should encourage Nasty Peelousee to “push ahead, damn the lose, who the dems going to beleive her or their lyin eyes”. If they are retreating, it could cool the passion to throw them out by the independents.

I am not as confident as you guys that taxes will be repealed or that a new bureau of some kind won’t be established. I know we have had periodic, but rare, income tax rate reductions but I don’t recall any FICA, Medicare, or similar taxes being lowered or eliminated. That is most likely what this would be, another automatic payroll deduction.

Once a bureau or department is created I am not aware of any ever being eliminated. Remember how at one time we were going to get rid of the Departments of Education and Energy? They have only grown. The Fair Tax would eliminate the IRS. No matter how worthy the cause how is that going? We always hear the moaning about the people losing their jobs, government jobs, and it never seems to happen.

It is a lot easier to create these monstrosities than to tear them down.

We can only hope Pelosi sticks to her words!!!!

I listened to MSNBC and CNN last night to see how they were spinning the loss.

Coakley was generally the fall guy for the loss. Almost never was Obama the cause for the loss.

Many of the MSNBC and CNN commentators were saying the Democrats needed to really push HealthCare now. Because once the American Public experienced the joys of socialized medicine, the Democrats would be loved again.

Robot, you make valid points. Up to a few years ago, I would have agreed. However, I think the game has changed: not only are people able to get the truth (via alternative media, Internet) more easily than ever before ... but I don’t think Americans have ever been THIS pissed off before.

Obamacare is dead. Period.

Stretch Pelosi can put on whatever public face she wants, but she knows it’s dead.

They know if they can get something socialistic passed, anything, it will never be undone and they will be a step further down the road. So what if there are a few casualties along the way?

Bingo. I think she’s crazy too. Power mad diva. No big plane for you.

It would be nice if she has another meltdown like the CIA misled me thing.

You are correct and you have history on your side. However comma this one is different because of the front end loaded pain and the back end loaded so called bennies.
I don’t want to get too carried away and believe that it’s a sure thing, buuuuut it’s a good possibility. I hope, maybe, I think, could be.

“Including reimbursement of taxes, I hope.”

Excellent point...those taxes prepaid now for our “health care” services that would begin in 2013 should be paid back. However, who here honestly believes the Progressives won’t spend that money as soon as they get it? It will be spent just like the money in the Social Security lock boxes was spent.

The best thing to do is kill this progressive Health Care bill once and for all and let Freepers write one. :)

... but I don’t think Americans have ever been THIS pissed off before.

Perhaps, but we were pretty het up when we replaced Carter with Reagan.

A difficulty we have is conservatives actually believe in the values which made this country great., We believe in fair play and self reliance and occasionally we compromise in the spirit of fair play. Conservatives try to do what is best for America.

Democrats, on the other hand care only about gaining and keeping power. To them, the party and their position in it are more important than America. They are much like the Communist Party in the USSR.

They have been moving the country steadily left with every Democrat president since Woodrow Wilson. They have done it incrementally, usually, but with several bold strokes under FDR and LBJ. Each greatly expanded government reach and power.

Americans are angry now because with a strong majority in both the Senate and House Obama greatly overplayed his hand. However, the ground had been prepared by all the Democrat incrementalism before him. Clinton, both of them, were just as radical as Obama but he was opposed by a larger number of Republicans in Congress and couldn't get away with it.

I hope the American anger is sustained and that we are able to roll back the Lefist agenda of the last seventy plus years. I am not confident that the average Jane or Joe has the attention span to keep up with the crafty and amoral Leftists.

Speaker Pelosi was born into a politically powerful family and was essentially given her seat in Congress when she was nearly 50 years old. She has never has a difficult election and has had no restraints on her ambition or her radicalism.

She worked her way up the leadership ranks through ruthless determination, not through brilliance or natural leadership skills. Now within a couple of months of her 70th birthday she finds herself Speaker of the House with her only major legislative accomplishment facing defeat. She knows that she does not have time to start over and will be only a footnote in history without passing the health care bill.

It is understandable that she would be willing to go down in flames for this bill. The question is how many others are willing to go down with her.

I’m guessing the first calls for her to step down as speaker (from within her party) are less than two weeks away.

She can't.

The "historic" First Woman Speaker cannot be seen as a cast-aside failure.

I think the only way she loses the Speakership is if the GOP retakes the House.

There are a lot of Democrats breathing a huge sigh of relief tonight. More than a handful of Democrats were luke-warm in their commitment to Mengelecare in the first place (some “committed” to it only after having their kneecaps shot) and they want OUT of this nightmare in time to recover for November. Brown’s victory gives them just the excuse they need to bail. Word is spreading fast, and House Democrats are drawing straws even now to see who gets to hand the memo to Pelosi.

Communist health care reform is as dead as Ted.
