This is a fascinating interview of Martha Coakley this morning on a local TV station, focusing mostly on health care. Note how Martha Coakley dismisses the concerns that voters have about health care by claiming the voters are too unfocused, dont really understand this issues involved, etc.
In particular, watch her adamant response to the question about the fact that 61 percent of voters in the Suffolk poll dont think we can afford government-run health care. Are they wrong? the interviewer asks.
They ARE wrong, Coakley practically shouts...

Seriously - Given the polls, Rahm may have now instructed her to present herself looking as stupid as possible, in order to deflect the blame away from Obama. I’m very serious about this; her payoff being some type of future employment.
I saw a snippet of 0zer0's speech to the Coakley crowd yesterday. As usual everything was about HIM... "I need your help." "I need Martha in the Senate." Not one word about the people of Massachusetts.
And Still Thinking says the ever-so-knowledgeable Martha should go perform a medical procedure on herself.
What do you expect from the double bagger movement.
" Governor sets date for special Senate election, presses for interim appointment

Governor Deval Patrick continued today to press for a change to state law to allow him to appoint an interim replacement for Senator Edward M. Kennedy as he announced that a special election for the seat will be held on Jan. 19. "
Nobody is.
That's why it shouldn't be managed by one person, or one committee, from Washington.
“Keep it up Martha for the next 24 hours”
I say let her campaign for other DEMS through October.
I was at a Texas state convention a while back and talked to a media guy and asked him if he had covered the Democrat convention that was at the same place only about two weeks previous. He said he had covered that event too. I asked if he noticed any differences between the two crowds. He said:
"Well, yeah. Do you see these people here? (And he pointed to the crowd in the hall and walking past us.) These people look like your ordinary go to church, go to the bank kind of folks. (I shook my head in agreement.) Well, those people who showed up at that Democrat function, I really don't know what planet THEY were from."
Americans Will Violently Revolt When They See What’s Really In The Healthcare Bill

They initially lobbied for single-payer, but Obama took that off the table from the start for political reasons. So free #2 was the public plan. That would be free in the sense that taxpayers would be forced to support it, and premiums would be based on ‘ability to pay’ while everyone would get the same benefits.
But now the Senate-Reid bill has no public option. Just the mandate to buy insurance from evil greedy corporations they hate with some subsidies. The lib's hate this, call it Leiber-care after Leiberman, but many just cant bring themselves blame O for some reason.
That looks like the House plan because it referenced the government public ‘option’. That version is most certainly dead. The question now is how the Senate plan will be modified and then sold to the Democrat house members and the Senate too.
It be interesting to see all these video points in a table that compares both versions of the bill.
To clarify, the 2004 law was not unequivocally repealed, however the State legislature did act to allow the Governor (in this instance) to employ his exectiuve powers to appoint an interim replacement (predetermined not to run in the special election) until such time as a special election could be held (there was a Repub court challenge to this but it was dismissed by a liberal judge). I guarantee you that if the situation is one day soon reversed, the Repub Gov will not be granted the same priviledge.
There is an ongoing Prayer Thread for those of you FReepers who feel moved to PRAY for Scott Brown, and the People of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mom in Boston says that even her priest at Sunday Mass prayed about this election yesterday, without naming names, but mentioning the Unborn.
Here is the thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2430467/posts
Hope to see you there!
Put a fork in her. She’s done!
Maybe I don’t understand “healthcare”, but I know when my plan is being screwed with. Zero, Pelosi, and Reid want to permanently do away with my plan for their DMV-from-hell.
She is an idiot. Just because you diagnoise a child with diabetes doesn’t mean that anything can be done about it other than an earlier diagnosis because there is no cure! DUH There are repeated studies that show that preventive care does not reduce the price of healthcare in most cases, it actually has the opposite effect on it.
Eff you, Martha, you elitist twit!

Exactly, people need to be reminded of this while they're getting their tax forms together. Remember the Income Tax started out only hitting the top 2% of the country. I read somewhere that during the debates on passing the 16th amendment someone asked the question what's to prevent them from ratcheting it up to as high as 20%. The answer was to the effect that , who would ever dare raise it to such a confiscatory amount as 20%. This was 1913, fast forward to today and most of us wish all they took out was 20%.
