A major national union supporting Democrat Martha Coakley is taking out a massive TV ad buy that slams her Republican rival, Scott Brown, for his positions on abortion and climate change.
The ad taken out by the Service Employees International Union, will begin airing statewide tomorrow. The buy size is $685,000, one of the largest of the election.

Before you vote for Senate, heres a few things you should know about Scott Brown, says a narrator in the 30-second spot. The narrator then says he has repeatedly opposed a womans right to choose and he expresses skepticism that climate change is being caused by humans.
No wonder Browns campaign is being supported by the same extremist group that backs Sarah Palin, the narrator says. Martha Coakley for Senate. Massachusetts values.

Massachusettes values? Has she killed anyone, is her brother on the Most Wanted list? Did she throw her medals over the wall? Does she hobnob with Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky?

We thought ACORN was bad. SEIU is vastly worse. If ACORN is a boil, SEIU is a stage 4 melanoma on the body of the Republic.

The thugs in purple riding to the rescue. SEIU is radical, socialist, borderline criminal cult.

I could almost find this understandable if the issues they addressed had ANYthing to do with jobs, working conditions, labor issues, etc. The very idea that union dues are being used to promote job killing Cap and Trade and baby killing abortion (and Brown is only about 25% anti-abortion) is enough to spin George Meany in his grave.

he expresses skepticism that climate change is being caused by humans. Single digits tonight in New England with no warming on the horizon. If you think this is a timely issue . . .

I hope and pray that others in MA have the same reaction to that as I do. It is vile and disgusting!! These people haven’t an ounce of decency in them.

SEIU should not have to be buying attack ads for Coakley this late in the campaign. That’s a sign of just how badly things are going for the Rats.

I don't think these ads will do much good...most people have caught onto SEIU and ACORN by now, and know full well that they are a henchmen for a the communist party (the Democrats).
Everybody hates this healthcare bill, and many folks see Brown as the only hope to stop it cold. After all, he got over a million bucks in a day or so in contributions from all over the USA.
I hope conservatives and independents turn out in droves to overpower any thuggery these purple-shirts have planned.
This will be major. All the other dems will see a historically liberal state go to a Republican, and they'll be heading for high ground too. It may even happen if Brown loses but comes mighty close. "Close" really counts when its a Conservative running in a blue state.
I hope everyone will wear one of those flag t-shirts of red, white and blue with the tagline, "These Colors Don't Run"...just to show the purpleshirts.
Hang out at the polls, follow the ballot boxes to the "counting area" or sec of state office to keep them honest, like in Florida in 2001. Bring the best weapon you have...YOUR VIDEO CAMERAS...lots of tape/discs...record everything. Be on them like "white on rice"..(ooops that sort'a sounded harry reid-ish, didn't it?).
Time to take our country back, ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS.

We all need to boycott as much as possible any entity that employs any union workers.
Of course no one can really boycott government. :(

I cannot imagine Brown winning this thing. But they must be seeing SOMETHING to freak them out in internals or they wouldn’t blow $700k on what was supposed to be the safest seat in America.
To: montag813
I can imagine him winning . The inside info must be hideous . Union money , flying to Dc for a hand out and the neg ads . This is not the behavior of someone who thinks this is won . Brown can raise a mill a day . Good luck keeping up with that . There are no significant races out there , there is a lot of money on the sidelines .
