The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 10th, 2010
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Jack Reed, D-R.I.; Democratic National Chairman Tim Kaine; Republican National Chairman Michael Steele.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif.; Kaine; Steele.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Christina Romer, chairwoman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn.; former Gov. Doug Wilder, D-Va.; Romer.
This was hashed out the last time SarahPAC filed its finance report back in July of last year. I am sure it will be somewhat the same in a week or two when the new report is filed. Mac gave SarahPAC funds so SarahPAC just returned the favor. The same can be said of Graham of SC. It was start up funds form the two Senators get SarahPAC going. SarahPAC returned the favor real quick. Lets not forget these two where relatively decent to Sarah and her family as well.
I do wonder why Steele has to ‘get the message’ following each gaffe. It appears his instincts are off base and he has to be retrained over and over.
STEELE: I think overall — given what we know so far and what this administration’s proclivities are — we’re going to see, I think, nice pick-ups in the House. I think we’re gonna see...
HANNITY: [interrupting] ... woah, more specific.
STEELE: Well, I can’t give a number yet, because like I said, we’re just now beginning to look at the races, and we have races...
HANNITY: [interrupting] Do you think you can take-over the House? Do you think Republicans...
STEELE: [interrupting] ... not this year, and Sean, I’ll say...
HANNITY: [interrupting] ... you don’t think so?
STEELE: Well, I don’t know yet, because I don’t know all the candidates yet. We still have some vacancies that need to get filled, but then the question we need to ask ourselves is: if we do that, are we ready?
HANNITY: Are you?
[cross-talk]
STEELE: I don’t know. And that’s what I’m assessing and evaluating right now. Those candidates who are looking to run have to be anchored in these principles.... because if they don’t, then they’ll get to Washington, and they’ll start drinking that Potomac River water, and they’ll get drunk with power and throw the steps out the window.
My concern also. It seems like he doesn’t learn.
In addition, he often seems to have a tin ear, and I detect a disturbing attempt to ingratiate himself with certain interviewers.
At any rate it seems Steele has tempered his remarks, after a series of gaffes.
OMG, Ahnuld carries a list of his “accomplishments” with him.
This man is a dunce.
Add: 100 Hours.
“How long did it take YOU to realize the system failed.”
Done with shots of Obama playing golf, lame statements, clock as on 24.
Many of you will have seen this ad on the web. It’s on the Keep America Safe web site.
The odious Republican senator...Luger...said that Dick Cheney’s remarks about Obama were “UNFAIR”.
My concern as well, plus his seemingly inability to state conservative viewpoints and defense while letting the Democrats lie and mislead.
Brennen apologizing and promising to do better. I can only think of Pee Wee Herman singing:
La la la...connect the dots!
HA!
I think McCain has been on TV more than any other pol, ever.
Talk about over-exposed!
Just go!!!!
Christine Romer - we call her “prozac lady” :-))
She can either support J.D.,who really has not announced yet that I know of,support McCain or stay out.
From her perspective, I am guessing,no really great choices there.
Could just be that the entire MSM, plus all the bloggers that can be bought, has gone into the Opposition Research mode to the point that they wouldn’t report anything Steele (or anybody else) said that WASN’T a gaffe. Even if they had to create the da** quote.
This week Fox News Watch had some guy named Douglas, whose apparent role in life is to throw left-wing lunatic fringe rhetorical bombs, until he provokes a response or reaction from the adults on the panel. In any event, the show avoids having any intelligent or meaningful discussion. I was surprised to not see Tucker Carlson, Elanor Clift, or Joy Behar not make an appearance.
In the future, I wonder if "Preventor Of Intelligent Debate" will become a formal job description, or just a character in a comic strip, like "Mordac, the Preventor of Information Technology".
Wallace shows the evolution of obama’s calling the panti-bomber from “isolated extremist” to “known terrorist”, with two intermediary phrases. Panel is discussing.
Kristol says obama using the phrase an “isolated extremist”, three days AFTER the bombing is very worrisome; shows obama’s wishful thinking that it was so.
Juan defends obama and says the whole thing has been “politicized”.
LOL
