FORT WAYNE, IND. (WANE) - Congressman Mike Pence talked to NewsChannel 15’s Matt McCutcheon about a variety of issues in the New Year, including the economy, national security, and a potential run for President in 2012.
Despite the Winter Blast Thursday afternoon, Pence held town hall meetings in preparation for the upcoming session on Capitol Hill. In a sit down interview with NewsChannel 15, he said there’s a lot of work to be done during that session.
"This is about jobs and spending. The American people are tired of the failed economic policies of this administration and this congress. From the time they've passed their stimulus bill, we've seen unemployment rise from 7.5% to 10% nationally," Pence said.

“Will your name be on the list for contenders for President,” NewsChannel 15’s Matt McCutcheon asked. “Well... I don't know. If I'm re-elected in 2010, we'll take a look at a number of opportunities. I'm devoting all of my energy and all of my attention to winning back the congress and the statehouse for conservative values and we'll let the future take care of itself,” Pence said.

You’re right, I remember that too. His triangulation on amnesty was despicable. I was surprised he didn’t stand up to Bush and take a strong position against amnesty. It was a real let-down.
I’m an Indiana voter so go ahead Mike, your a good man, show us what you got. What did you say? “Oh you think that you will be embarrassed and find out just what us TEAPAC people think of you!” Mike,Mike, not to worry, we already know you mean well but are way over your head no matter how hard you try to be just one of the ordinary people.
What was that you say? “You have a hard time giving a passionate off the cuff gut speech.” Yeah , the last time we TeaPartied in Washington the woman gave very wonderfull passionate, off the cuff gut speeches. But hell they were just houswife’s and clerks your stuff was much better where you read half of the boring thing and looked so serious.
Look, I think your great, just quite acting so, so SERIOUS. Serious is ok but you have to be able to pull it off and be serious about it.
Hey Mike, did you know I was good friends with your aunts oldest girl, Sarah? She talked about you once in a while but she’s not going to be seen around with you; she said so herself.
Mike, your future spot is in the Senate, make more money, better dinning room, and there won’t be as many ahead of you in the toilet line.
Nothing bad, he’s just more of a talker than a doer. Not someone I consider presidential material.
