New York Post ^ | 1/7/10

DC clairvoyants say Rahm Emanuel will leave as President Obama's chief-of-staff in the not-too-distant future. Though once a congressman himself, Emanuel is said to be frustrated with lawmakers who won't bend to his will.

SNIP

Obama's fiercely loyal adviser Valerie Jarrett is said to be the frontrunner to take his place.

Here, read this sentence:

“Obama’s fiercely loyal adviser Valerie Jarrett is said to be the frontrunner to take his place.”

Without the other context, one could mis-read it.

"and it also may have something to do with what is going on Chicago "

Good thinking. There's also that Rezko guy who's supposed to be singing for a reduced sentence.

This is not an improvement, if one knows anything at all about Valerie Jarrett.

She’s the one that got Van Jones on staff...

I suppose Valerie will run America like the slumlord she is.

and it also may have something to do with what is going on Chicago regarding Blagovich & his trial

Bingo! Thats why Gregory Craig was thrown under the bus and Bam's personal lawyer was hired as White House Counsel. Usually the scandals occur in the second term, but it looks like with this administration it may occur in the first.

Looks like the Zero may have the feel that something is about to land on him, so, watch for a friday night announcement soon such as his aid d’camp has decided to seek other career paths, hopefully with a mop in prison along with Blago.

Meanwhile, Jarrett is more evil than Emanuel, perhaps she is the last level of Dante’s hell for us.

No, no no there is something WRONG with this story — “he is frustrated by lawmakers who WON’T BEND TO HIS WILL?” And WHO would those lawmakers be?????????? He’s made sixty senators line up behind a vote that is in direct conflict with the will of the people!!!!! THere’s something else going on.

THere’s something else going on.

Definitely agree. Maybe they've figured out a reason that rahm would be more useful to them on the outside than the inside.

You can not lead a people that will not follow..... especially to the gallows.

Obama asks, "How can I lead a people that won't obey me? (Same question Mao asked)

I also think this has something to do with Chicago corruption. He may be escaping to Israel where he can live whithout fear of extradition. Lots of loose ends to tie up first.

I believe the Israelis now extradite criminals, although in the case of Rahm Emmanuel, I’d be surprised if they did. He’s the son of an important Israeli general, IIRC.

IMHO you’re wrong about Onadacare votes. If the votes were there it would have already passed. Everything I read indicates Onada and Reid are still “working the room”—so to speak. Bypassing the committee reconciliation step, C-Span coverage (or lack of same) and Onada’s continuing “bring them to the woodshed” efforts are examples of this.

I think RE may be frustrated by Bambi’s inability to get some of the things that he had wanted right off the bat, but I’d suspect there’s something else at work here.

Possibly Emmanuel is being sent out of DC to make sure that the troops (ACORN, SEIU) stay in line out there in the hinterlands, or possibly simply to take him out of such a prominent position and let him work more aggressively behind the scenes. I think Bambi knows that RE is extremely unpopular with many people, even some Dems, and that he’s probably served his purpose in DC.

Besides, RE is a Jew and Valerie Jarrett was born in Iran to leftist American parents, and is widely thought to be a Muslim. She turns up in all sorts of Muslim advocacy groups and “outreach” organizations, although she’s pretty shadowy about being a Muslim. I read an interview with her before the election that indicated that she was a Muslim. But in any case, if she’s not an overt Muslim, she’s very pro-Muslim, like Barry.

I heard someone (Dem insider or reporter (same thing)-can’t recall) on Scarborough say Rahm was dead set against pushing for a public health care option because he knew it would split the party and never pass. He has been at loggerheads with others in the Obama administration over this and disappointed that Obama didn’t squash Pelosi on this from the get go. He advice was not heeded.

IMO, he is getting off the Titanic to live and fight another day. He wants to get out of the disaster that is DC and put a lot of distance between himself and the Obama led disaster in the making. If he gets out now, of his own volition, he’ll be long gone and forgotten when Nov. 2010 rolls around.

Rahm may be an ideologue, but he is first and foremost a pragmatist who will do anything to stay on top of the heap. He is not a lemming. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he sets up shop with the Clintons to grab back the reins of the Dem party from the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Dean wing. If he does, that will be great political intrigue and entertainment- popcorn worthy.

Bring on Jarrett. She will be an unmitigated disaster.
