Brilliant! Excellent point, Pat! It’s so starkly true it hurts one’s head to think that some people cannot grasp it. You should bottle that and post it on your blog.

It’s the only way they can get invited to all the “right” cocktail parties.

Yesterday on CNN, the anchor claimed that the average unemployed worker has been unemployed for 27 straight months now. Doesnt that seem impossible?
UE has been rising since about mid 2007. It just wasn't reported. I recall a local news story about food banks running short and the number of Food Stamp applications increasing 2 years ago. Of course, the number was still in the single-digit (5-6%) range.

Regarding those cocktail parties, it’s how they prove to themselves that they are cool.
Frankly, I listen to few of the pundits any more.

David Brooks fits your theory perfectly, Miss Marple. As does E.J. Dionne.

Many of the Bush tax cuts expired a couple of days ago. Couple that with the uncertainty of Obiecare and Crap&Trade and there is no reason for businesses to start hiring. I suspect businesses large and small have already analyzed the worst case scenario and have planned accordingly. Unemployment will increase significantly over the next year, not go down.

It has worked every time they used it in the past. Why souldn’t they continue to use it? I know of three it will work on. I posted the gist of a conversation between three obama voters I overheard while eating at a Maryland Fried Chicken place. To sum it up, they blamed Bush for everything that was happening and tht obama is a genius for straightening everything Bush messed up out.
So as long as they are Democrats, that line will continue to work from now to eternity.

The big question is how will all these new govt. jobs be funded after 2012? where will all the money come from. If the new adm.(in 2012) is thinking clearly,a huge govt. sell off will begin. Sell off as many things that the govt. should not be doing to free enterprise and try and save the integrity of the nation.
They can begin with GM. (if there are any buyers.)
