FORT WORTH Maria Wahba slept through her own party.
The baby, who was born at John Peter Smith Hospital six minutes after midnight on New Years Day, was the center of attention Friday afternoon as cameras gathered to take photos of Tarrant Countys first baby of 2010.
Mother Manja Daood joked that it took her two years to deliver little Maria: Her contractions started about 7 a.m. Thursday, in 2009, and didnt end until just after midnight, she said.

Welfare Hosp.
Their names make them sound like Egyptian Copts, the orginal and authentic Eqyptians who make up almost 33% of Egypt (unofficially) and are Christian and heavily prosecuted.
I know it is a welfare hospital but I pray for the Egyptian copts who just want their homeland back from the invading and occupying Arabs.
It would be interesting to see the demographics of all of these “first baby of the new year” stories.
The media seems to be making over the “first” babies a lot this year. They must be under the mistaken impression that this is the start of another decade. They have a year yet for that.
Okay, now that Teddy’s gone can we stop his lottery visa program? (I mean, what a great idea, making lotto out of the opportunity for American citizenship...)
It sure would. :^)
I wonder why they let them take it.
The Byzantines had exhausted themselves fighting the Persians. The Arab Muslims waltzed right in.
It happened more than a millenium ago. The collapse of the Roman and Byzantine Empires and the dissolution of their military might left the vast provinces and suzerainties exposed and defenseless. The Persians were also in decline around the same time. The fierce Mohammedan armies gained strength through conquests shortly after that, filling up the power vacuum left by the Romans and the Persians. The first lands to fall were those of the Christian Levant, including Mesopotamia and Egypt, the latter falling to the invading Mohammedans around 640AD.
The Dallas Morning News had a front page story of the first baby in Dallas county. Born at Parkland, the mother was 19 and can’t speak English. She followed her boyfriend her from Mexico less than a year ago. No doubt a birth at taxpayer expense and little doubt that she is not an American citizen.
Maybe it happened the same way we are being taken at this very moment
I have friends who are Egyptian Copts and they still have family over there; it is a very dangerous place for them, but they are elderly and want to stay in their homeland.
(and the medical care over there is awful he tells me...that’s the other reason he wants his parents to move here)
The Copts are terrorized daily over there.
And where did you say those big census gains for Texas came from?
California had one that could not speak English, and had 5 or 6 more at home, which I am sure were paying for also.
We get to pay their RENT, FOOD STAMPS, MEDICAL BILLS, UTILITIES and a check each month for cash to spend. Nice set up. :^)
No one is taking me over. The rest of them are cowards and want the Americans to come take back their land for them.
Also It didn’t help there was a huge rift between Constantinople and Alexandria over the use of icons.
I saw that but we are making progress.
last year the illegal who gave birth at our expense to her anchor baby was 15
I don’t get how the Dallas Morning news can keep acting like this is a good thing, taxpayers paying for yet another illegal.
I suspect 3/4 of them have unmarried parents
A demographic study would be interesting!
