HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Rush Limbaugh AP Image Rush Limbaugh Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.
Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. He will not be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, sources said.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.
In 2001, Limbaugh received a cochlear implant after he suddenly lost hearing due to autoimmune inner ear disease. Limbaugh underwent treatment in 2003 for an addiction to prescription painkillers, including Lorcet, Norco and hydrocodone.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rahm, Axlerod and Barry are burning the midnight oil and cooking up scheme to keep Rush off the air.
Queen’s Hospital:
The place where The Gray Communist Usurper was no longer born...
Your post reminded me of the odd coincidence that was whispered around the network when MCI Communications founder and Chairman, Bill McGowan, had his heart transplant in the late Eighties.
It was said that a Second Level Technician from the Washington DC. Telephone Terminal strangely went missing.
Prayers for our "Godfather of Talk Radio!"
I agree. He was the lone voice in the wilderness for so long. His voice of reason during the Clinton years, and now in the Obama debacle, is one of the few things that allows conservatives to have hope.
I’ve gone to other web sites tonight to see if they had anything updated on him, but FR seems to be taking the lead. Drudge’s link to Breitbart came up much later than the first posting on FR.
His hearing wasn’t harmed by painkillers and the type of painkillers he was taking would not damage his heart either. Ignoramuses like to say things like that.
Strangely, the article, at the end, fails to mention that ALL of Obama’s primary opponents dropped out after his minions challenged their petitions. Jack Ryan dropped out after his divorce “closed files” miraculously popped open.
I’m assuming the rest of the article was self serving, as well.
They'll be more depressed than ever.
There was that story a month ago about the CIA having a "heart attack" gun;
And now Rush Limbaugh, who was only miles away from Obama, suddenly has a "heart problem"? Just put two and two together and see what you get.
Even though there's some tin foil hat stuff in that article, it does make you think Barry targeted El Rushbo.
Dittos to that!
Two years later, my neck pain was getting worse and worse until I couldn't stand it anymore. I finally went in for an x-ray. Learned I had cracked a facet in my neck two years earlier.
I've had both lower back disc pain - where you get completely immobilized from pain and can't breathe - and this neck pain, which has been intermittent since I injured it. I'm not sure which is worse. The neck pain would freeze up my entire shoulder, neck and back area, and every day I would get a migraine that would start up at 4:00 in the afternoon and by 6 I would either be puking or blinded by pain. I finally had 6 facet block injections in the neck, and fortunately they worked. I know people who have had the injections repeatedly and they didn't even touch the pain. So whatever is ailing Rush, I pray that his pain subsides and he heals.
I did not know you had a heart. sarcasm
My prayers are with Rush.
Screw the libtards.
Well.......because the islands are the most beautiful location on earth, especially this time of year. (and all year).
Wishing Rush well. Hopefully oBama will send him well-wishes, knowing that Rush speaks the full-on truth.
I started listening to Rush in ‘88 and told myself I would turn him off if he started spinning the truth like so many of the MSM do.. It is almost 2010 and I haven’t stopped listening and learning yet. America needs Rush. He is the sanity we look for every day in the news. Get well Big Boy, and come on home soon.
I hope their hearts continue to break. I read some of the comments someone posted from the DU site. Those people are just plain evil.
AMEN to that.
Ive gone to other web sites tonight to see if they had anything updated on him, but FR seems to be taking the lead. Drudges link to Breitbart came up much later than the first posting on FR.
Drudge seems to be asleep, and I haven't found any other updates yet. There are rumors floating around that Rush's condition has been upgraded to "stable", but there are no links/reports to confirm that claim.
God Bless you and God Bless Rush!!
Something very few people on here know about me, but it’s relevant to this topic.
I’ve been a chronic pain patient for over 4 years now after suffering a very severe bad back injury. I have had to go through detox and treatment for addiction, as did Rush, to pain meds.
I am currently on narcotic pain relievers again - under the supervision of a pain doctor. It is either that or not be able to function.
I am prescribed other medications that help with severe back pain that are not narcotics but nonetheless addictive.
Under strict supervision from a well trained pain control doctor, family support and having my husband count my pills, I am a very controlled but safe “addict”.
I know the type of pain Rush is in, I also know he has access to the best doctors in the country and full time medical staff if needed. I am also sure he is being prescribed medications for his chronic pain with full knowledge of his past problems.
If he is back on pain medication to control his chronic pain, while it isn’t 100% certain he will not have a problem again, it is very possible to be medically treated for pain even after addiction, and not go into the “bad” side of addiction.
From personal experience, when your quality of life deteriorates severely. When your body begins to be harmed from chronic pain (high blood pressure, heart problems, additional injuries are all common) a person weighs their options and decides if the risk is worth it.
Having a life back, for me, was worth the risk. I’m sure Rush fully understands this.
WE do not need to start rumor mongering or questioning what he is doing to care for himself. Let DU, TMZ etc handle that.
Prayers for a speedy recovery Rush.
“Stable” would be good to hear at this point.
