You are right, those belts have got to go! The photo that goes with article has a typical awful example. My mom used to like big old belts like that too, I just hate them. They look awfully uncomfortable.

Personally I don't think either one of them has a clue on how a president and the president's family should present themselves when they're out in public. They've picked friends and paid 'debts' to those that supported him in his run for the Presidency. There's a major difference in how a community organizer and wife present themselves versus how a president and first lady comport themselves.
It's not just how they dress, it's also how they act in public, how they 'gift' other country's leader's and proper Presidential protocol.

I've thought this, too. Why were they so vulgar towards the Brits, fondling the queen, giving tacky presents? Why is he bowing to King Faud and the Japanese Emperor? That last just appalled me, any undergraduate who spent a semester in Japan would have known better. But Obama insisted on "doing his own thing" on the international stage. As a result, the world's leaders now know him for a fool. That's both a danger to us, and possibly a help. Every time he talks to the Chinese, they're less likely to lend us money, which will hurt in the short term, but might help in the long.
