PHOENIX Authorities say theyve detained two men thought to have been acting suspicious aboard a flight bound for Phoenix.
A Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman says passengers aboard U.S. Airways Flight 192 from Orlando, Fla. Saturday night reported that two men were acting strangely.

The problem with flying is the other people. Cargo or even cattle would be less nerve racking. ;-)
Are you sure? I've sent many FedEx packages between CA and HI, and have never seen Memphis on the tracking info. Not trying to doubt you, I was just surprised to read this because it would seem inefficient to route packages this way between, say, the West Coast and Hawaii.
TSA: 2 passengers talking suspiciously removed from plane (Phoenix- Sky Harbor)
(snipped)
Suzanne Trevino, a spokesperson with Transportation Security Administration (TSA), said US Airways Flight 192 was inbound from the Orlando Airport when several passengers reported seeing two other passengers talking suspiciously.
FBI spokesperson Manuel Johnson said a female passenger overheard the two Middle Eastern men speaking in a foreign language and reported them to airline staff.
According to Johnson, the two men were talking about being late for their flight and not being able to shop at the airport before boarding their flight to Phoenix.
The men were reportedly watching the movie The Kingdom on a portable DVD player while talking, and the female passenger, who was sitting near the men, thought this was suspicious and reported them to flight personnel.
TSA and officers from the Phoenix Police Department met the plane at the gate when it arrived at Sky Harbor Saturday night.
Johnson said the two men were removed from the flight and questioned by the FBI.
It was determined the men had done nothing wrong and they were released and allowed to continue on to their final destination, Los Angeles.

Obama gets more unwelcome news from Detroit
By Anne E. Kornblut
HONOLULU — For the second time in three days, President Obama had his vacation interrupted with unwelcome news of a disturbance of a flight landing in Detroit.
Since his arrival four days ago, Obama has not made any public comments about the original Detroit incident, on Christmas, or emerged from his vacation home except to go to the gym, play golf and, briefly on Christmas Day, shake hands with military officers.
Hmm, strange that it doesn’t show up on the tracking info. According to the FedEx tracking info, the packages I’ve sent between CA and HI never touch down in any state besides CA or HI and often arrive in what seems like too a short a time to double-back to Memphis. Weird. Thanks for the info, and it’s not worth haggling about, but it does have me wondering, LOL.
FedEx uses Indianapolis and a west coast airport (SFO?) as secondary hubs. The vast majority of packages move through Memphis, but not everything goes there. Not sure what sort facilities a CA to Hawaii package would pass through...it may still be Memphis.
I see no problem here, we are sending a message to ANY person that falls in a certain profile. Undoubtedly there will be innocents, they should just not travel right now.
And frankly I see no innocents, I suspect ANY Muslim right now.
Thanks.
Thanks, that would make more sense. I think it might be Oakland (OAK) airport, going from memory.
Anyway, didn’t mean to sidetrack this thread, just thought it was interesting. :^)
They would first have to find that behavior strange.
I disagree. They were at least testing or itching for a future lawsuit. It’s happened quite a few times in the last few weeks.

“The passenger told authorities the two men, described as being Middle Eastern, were speaking “loudly” in their native language.
The passenger then saw a suicide bomber on the DVD version of the movie “The Kingdom,” and one of the men reportedly got up to use the lavatory when the fasten-seatbelt sign was lit.
“The totality of those three occurrences led this passenger to believe this was suspicious,” Johnson said.

IMO, in THIS day and age - you don’t behave like that on a flight unless you’re stupid or....
Good for the passenger who reported this.
It may be coincidental, they may be peaceful people that are truly against radical Islamic teachings.
I still think they should refrain from air travel in the near future, its too difficult to restrain morally bound vigilantes, and I hope Obama tries not to discourage it either because its a good thing to have Americans standing up and voicing their fears.
We must unify and indeed confront the fears.
Profiling is the answer. Just start with muzzies and then move onto Dimwits.
I don’t believe in coincidences like that.
Be prepared and observant:

I too hope that we continue to have heroes like the gentleman who jumped the terrorist on Christmas Day - and I certainly wouldn’t refer to them as vigilantes.
For 90% of domestic you're correct. For Hawaii and LAX they make separate runs. Too much distance to fly it over night.
I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info.
Using the term would yes scare the political correct types but there is no getting around the hopefulness that more people ar acting on their own even if they are jumping to conclusions, odds are its being preventative.
I would yes be concerned that the MSM and even Obama himself will try to deter Americans from taking the law into their own hands, yes that would be a very scary thought for Obama.
I would rather be called a live vigilante than a charred piece of human flesh scattered along with 200 other passengers in a field somewhere.
