Pres. Obama should find time in his busy vacation schedule to drop a palm-trees-and-sandy-beaches thank you postcard to NBC. On this morning's Today, successive network staffers defended the administration's [mis]handling of the Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab matter.
First, terrorism expert Roger Cressey [who usually plays it straight], claimed there wasn't enough information to "connect the dots" and move young Umar from the "watch list" to the "no-fly" list. Really? The guy's father, a respected international banker, was so concerned about his son's extremist Islamist views that he took the unusual measure of personally contacting the US embassy with a warning. Dots? How about a huge exclamation point!?
Next, John Harwood backhands GOP criticism of the Obama admin's national security policy as "partisan."

And how many in the US (electorate) watch the media outside the country?
Harwood has been wearing obama knee pads from day one. Would he still play defense if he had a family member on board that flight? He has no credibility. Anyone affiliated with NBC has no credibility when it comes to journalism. Harwood is no better than olberman or matthews. They’re all on the same losing team.
That's why this administration didn't listen:
after TARP, they wanted to create the *impression* that they were independent of eeeeevil international bankers.

Obama refused to call the Ft. Hood attack terrorism, after all the attacker was on his transition team. Obama called the Christmas airliner attack an “attempted attack” as the bomb did not fully ignite. Obama affords terrorist the protections of civilian criminal courts. Obama curtailed Bush era surveillance measures to protect civil rights, terrorist civil rights. Obama is pretending there are no terror attacks since he took office. Unfortunately preventing terror attacks requires planning, diligence, legal tools, effective prosecution, and will; all attributes lacking in our President and the enemies of the country he put in charge of government. Obama will avoid addressing the American people on the recurring attacks so as to pretend there are no attacks.
