Woman Knocks Down Pope At Christmas Mass
Alex Watts, Sky News Online A woman has been arrested after jumping over barriers and knocking down the Pope at Christmas Eve Mass.
Pope Benedict
Pope Benedict XVI was attacked as he walked down the main aisle to begin the service at St Peter's Basilica at the Vatican.
Vatican spokesman Ciro Benedettini said the 82-year-old quickly got to his feet and was unhurt.
Benedict calmly resumed his walk to the Basilica's main altar and then began the Mass.

Fox News just showed his fall. Dear God, it looked awful to me! He’s 83 years old. I’m surprised he was able to get up so quickly. I’m afraid he’ll be sore tomorrow on Christmas Day.
FNC reported that the woman is mental.Better that’s she mental, and not a hater, but no less danerous regardless.
I’m going to pray for our Pope tonight.
A Blessed and Merry CHRISTmas to you, dear Brytani!
Even women who don't normally cover their hair at Mass (I do) sometimes will for something as formal as Midnight Mass at St. Peter's.
There is a story on line that the woman grabbed him by the vestments, knocked him down and he fell on top of her.
His mitre was knocked off and he just laid there until he was helped up. Then he appeared shaken. Another priest was also knocked down and brought to hospital.
I don’t know what the answer is to such violence.
Sigh
I really REALLY need to find a more “conservative” parish. I’ve yet to see a single woman (except for Nuns) who cover their heads at St. Louis in Miami. Not even for Easter etc.
Merry Christmas Nina
New (I think) video of the attack on Pope Benedict and the still unnamed Cardinal.
I apologize that it is on MSNBC and you have to sit through a short but obnoxious Bank of America Commercial

An educated guess tells me she’s a marxist Euro street pig.
Etchegaray
as opposed to the SS agents who let some kook throw TWO shoes at Bush. disgraceful. and i'm a big fan of the SS. i have worked with them and they are usually spot on.
Maybe.
Awful awful...
From the look on His Holiness’s face, it must have been a very tall woman.
It looks like she grabbed the midsection or bottom of his garment and pulled him over. I am guessing she must have wrecked havoc on the cardinal while she was knocked to the floor.
You don’t see too many women that are so athletic and strong.
Thank God that Pope Benedict is okay and prayers for the Cardinal.
Amish. Those women are out of control. /s
Thank you
Prayers for Cardinal Etchegaray.
