I wish Fox would broadcast to the American people, just once a week, clips from C-Span that would show the American People what their Congress is doing. Dump one of the reality TV shows and do this. I watched for the better part of the last two days the Senate proceedings involving the debate on the Health Care Bill. Republicans would rise to the floor and put serious questions regarding the Bill (the double counting of the $500 Billion in Medicare per the CBO, the Constitutionality of the Bill, the horrendous new tax burdens on the American people, the decline in health services resulting from this bill) and the Democrats would not answer the questions presented by the Republicans. They all just replied that the Republicans were a party of “do nothing” but they would not address the questions regarding the flaws in the bill. One senator even noted that and said something along the lines “You can’t defend the indefensible”.

They insist on doing SOMETHING, even if it’s wrong. They even voted down an amendment that would not go into affect with this “Nanny State” Health Care Bill that would prohibit “special deals” being cut to obtain passing votes, such as the Senator Nelson vote from Nebraska.

Fox could really have a hit on their hands if they would produce a prime time show such as this! I don’t think any other network would touch it.

Well, any of the American people who give a hoot could just turn on C-Span themselves.

To All My Democratic Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday.

Practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and may God bless you and your family!

Tiger Woods Christmas poem...

Twas the night of Thanksgiving and out of the house
Tiger Woods came a flyin’, chased by his spouse.
She wielded a nine iron and wasn’t too merry,
Cause a bimbo’s phone number was in his Blackberry.
He’d been cheatin’ on Elin, and the story progressed.
Woman after woman stepped up and confessed.
He’d been cheatin’ with Holly, and Jaimee, and Cori,
With Joselyn and Kalika...the world had the story.
From the top of the Tour to the basement of blues,
Tiger’s sad sordid tale was all over the news.
With hostesses, waitresses, he had lots of sex,
When not in their pants, he was sendin’ them texts.
Despite all his cryin’ and beggin’ and pleadin’,
Tiger’s wife went investin’ in a new home in Sweden.
And I heard her exclaim from her white Escalade,
“If you’re gettin’ laid then I’m gettin’ paid.”
She’s not pouting, in fact, she is of jolly good cheer,
Her prenup made Christmas come early this year.

FNC ratings are so high not because it is good, but because conservatives have nowhere else to go:
- Liberals like Shep Smith and Gueraldo
- Trotting out Dick Morris, Karl Rove, Steven Moore and Newt every night
- Hannity’s show is virtually unwatchable, but “let not your heart be troubled because there's the Great, Great, Great American Panel”
- BOR has become like formula radio. The body language lady's 15 minutes was up three years ago
- Greta has become the best of the FNC prime time lineup

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.

The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear..
Perhaps just a cough, I didn’t quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.

Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

“What are you doing?” I asked without fear,
“Come in this moment, it’s freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!”
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..

To the window that danced with a warm fire’s light
Then he sighed and he said “Its really all right,
I’m out here by choice. I’m here every night.”
“It’s my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.

No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I’m proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ‘ Pearl on a day in December,”
Then he sighed, “That’s a Christmas ‘Gram always remembers..”
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ‘ Nam ‘,
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.

I’ve not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he’s sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall..”

” So go back inside,” he said, “harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I’ll be all right.”
“But isn’t there something I can do, at the least,
“Give you money,” I asked, “or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you’ve done,
For being away from your wife and your son.”

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
“Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we’re gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.”

PLEASE, would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many
people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our
U.S service men and women for our being able to celebrate these
festivities. Let’s try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people
stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.

I see your point and it is a good one. It could and should be easily incorporated into one of the current shows. That way the salient parts of the Cspan coverage could be shown when there are salient points.
In fact now that you mention it I wonder why Fox hasn’t done it.

Sure people could tune into cspan but for those who work during the day or during live important events a recap with portions of cspan shown would be valuable

GOOD IDEA!

Replace some of the stupid Spike TV shows like Manswers and cop chase videos with hour long “Americas Stupidest Congress Critters”. The biggest challenge would be parsing it down to only a hour each week.

I wish they’d spend a full week interviewing people (victims) who live under the kind of government we’re headed for and how Socialism is the antithesis of freedom.

It astounds me how many people take our liberties for granted.

Surely we can get panels of people formerly from Eastern Bloc dictatorships and Euro-marxist countries to relate how horrifying it is to live like that in comparison to what Americans are used to.

Americans need to wake up soon or perish.

Not bad, although the clips would need to be brief, and commented on. (They do this to a degree already.)

I actually have several ideas for Fox News, as well.

One such idea is ...

The Friday Night Debates, a half-hour live debate, using a variety of formats, on the topic of the week by the most credible spokesperson of each side.

(Permission hereby given for Fox to use this.)

.

Personality-wise, Fox needs folks from each part of the spectrum of opinion in order to keep things balanced (somewhat) and also to maintain conflict (which translates to interest.)

Of all the guests who appear, I believe that Mark Steyn and Rich Lowry would be the best candidates for their own prime time political program at some future point.

.

Nice vanity, btw.

Not on SPIKE TV. I don't want to see Barbara Mikulski or Debbie Stabenow in bikinis.

It would be very interesting to have the format something akin to Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I suspect a good set of permanent hosts (Beck, Hannity) making comments about clips from CSPAN would be a hoot.

Though I watch very little TV, I'd tune in for the fun daily if this were offered!
